No. People who do have them removed are doing so for various reasons such as they don't have room for the new tooth or the tooth is going to move other teeth out of alignment. People who wore braces are often advised to have them removed so as not to destroy all that work. Some wisdom teeth are not well formed or are infected. Some never irrupt and can become diseased under the gum causing lots of discomfort and make the person ill - even cause them to lose other teeth. It's not required - but recommended for all those reasons. Having said that, there are populations of the world that never touch their wisdom teeth and get along just fine! Rely on your dentist to tell you why you need yours out (if that was the reason for your question).

I'm 22 and have not had mine removed.

I once read that wisdom teeth removal is more of a precautionary procedure than anything. The idea is that the sooner you get them out, the easier it is to take them out, so most people get them removed before they even know if they really need to.

I was advised to get mine out when I was 16. Well, they pretty much stopped growing and never even broke through the gums. They give me some pain maybe every six months or so, but it's nothing serious. I don't expect I'll ever need to get them removed.

The majority of people do have to get them removed, some sooner than others. Wisdom teeth are teeth that do not have the ability to retain fluoride, therefore, they will eventually rot; due to the lack of protection.

Not everyone. Only certain circumstances. I for sure have to get 1 removed. Only because I am completely missing one and the tooth below it has come in, and you cannot have a tooth without a tooth on top. I may, very slim chance, have to get the other 2 out as well, but like i said, a slim chance.

no you do not have to, if you have a cavernous mouth ( big mouth) and are able to hold the wisdome teeth. most people get them removed because they have small mouthes and the wisdome teeth pushes against other teeth and causes pain
