What percentage of extracted lower wisdom teeth in people over 50 end up with permanent nerve damage? My back wisdom has a cavitiy around an old filling and the dentist wants to have it removed because it's hard to keep clean and hard to get to to fill the cavity. The nerve is about 1/32 of an inch from the root.

All right, I've had my braces for 4 months now. When I first got them, they hurt like hell.... it hurt to eat cupcakes for about a month. I just got my teeth tightened yesterday, and they hurt a lot. I took Tylenol/Moltrin/Advil, but it doesn't help, plus, I banged my newly throbbing teeth on a cup. They hurt soooo much. Does anyone have ANY suggestions other than commercial, artificial medicine that doesn't do anything? I'll take any answers but please, help! I'm in pain here!

Basically I have had my tongue pierced for over 7 years. I never ever had a problem. I decided to take it out and get rid of it. I waited 7 days then changed my mind and shoved the barbel back through. YUP BAD idea! I think it was nearly healed and i really had to use some force. It kinda hurt for a few days so i again decided to take it out. Now i have noticed a small ball like feeling inside my tongue where it was pierced. It doesnt hurt or anything just feels kinda odd when i rub it with my teeth. I dont think i had this the first time i took the barbel out. So whats the deal will it go away?

Do you use one? Do you use it with anti-bacterial tongue spray? I recently purchased a BreathRX tongue scraper. Are they as good at curing bad-breath as the market says?

Now I just want tp know what the exact process is. Correct my if im wrong. Extraction, time for bone to heal? (how much time?) then the implant is placed and how much time after the that do i get the crown? and is there any after implant care that I need to have done? How do i maintain an implant? ...braces = an oral appliance consisting generally of wires or bands, used to correct misalignment of the teeth and jaws by exerting pressure on the teeth and their supporting structures.

I have some teeth that are not straight, on the front part of my lower jaw (or what is called the mandible...). Can they be made to stay in a straight way? There are 2 teeth just in front...

But take in consideration, I'm 23 years old. Can my teeth be made straight, taking into consideration the fact that the mandible is the hardest bone of all the bones of the human body (I heard this thing somewhere, but I forgot where and when, exactly...)...?

I have a 7 year old son that's had 3 abcesses. 3 times I've taken him to the dentist they have pulled his tooth out. Shouldn't they have slit the gum and drained the infection instead of pulling the tooth out. These are his baby teeth which they will grow back but now I am leery of the dentist because my son now has a hard time chewing. He was scheduled to get measured for spacers but that is when the doctor found the abcess again for a 3rd time. Fishy or not? He is scheduled again to get spacers and if the doctor tells me one more time he has an abcess I am leaving.
