I'm 47 and have problems with my teeth getting worn down from grinding at night. I have no other problems associated with the grinding. Is there a good appliance available in stores?

Look for Nightguards. They have them at any drugstore.

Yes. If you go to your local drugstore (I suggest Walgreens) you can find something in the tooth care isle. It is a rubber mouth guard. Put it on right before you fall asleep and it will keep you from grinding your teeth. Hope you feel better!

I didn't want to fork out the dough for the real thing either. I spent less than two dollars at the sporting goods store and bought a football mouth guard. Best Two bucks I ever spent.

Yes, in the dental isle, there are several products which will suit your needs. Don't neglect to put the guard in. It can cause you a lot of problems if you grind your teeth. You can have severe damage to your teeth, gums, jaw bone and also have bad headaches. I have one.

I think Target, Walgreen's, Wal-Mart, etc have these for $10-20. Or your dentist can custom make one of these for about $200. That's rarely covered by dental insurance, but you can use your medical flexible spending account to pay for it, if your employer has one of those.
