These spots could have been caused by Tetracycline when you were younger. There are other reasons why there could be discoloration such as excessive fluoride usage or intake.

Either way there is nothing to be concerned about besides the aesthetic aspect.

This can be easily fixed by bonding or veneers.

Bonding is the cheaper way to go and there is less involved. A thin layer of enamel will be removed and composite (white filling material) will be placed to hide the imperfections. There is a down side to this technique though. The bonding will not last forever and will most likely have to be replaced eventually.

Veneers are more involved and a bit pricey. A thin layer will be removed from the front and bottom of your teeth. Impressions will be taken and sent to a lab to fabricate the porcelain veneers. You will leave the office with temporary veneers. In a few weeks your veneers will be cemented in place. The veneers may last longer and if one does pop off keep it and you can have it re cemented.

If your parents have insurance...one or both of these procedures could be covered. Ask them to check into it!

You'll have a beautiful smile in no time! Make an appointment w/ your dentist and discuss your options. You'll be glad you did.

I'm not a dentist, but, I had the same problem. My dentist fixed it. It was painless. He used a tool like a small grinder and after that he put some sort of white glaze on and then used a laser. He told me it was from some mineral in the well water we had when I was a child. It has nothing to do with decay. You can also get your teeth bleached to get rid of the yellow. I know how embarassing it is having grown up with it myself. Go get a pretty smile honey. Visit your dentist and he'll help you I'm sure.

I have a white...well...whitish colored spot on my front tooth. I've had it ever since my adult teeth came in also. I was told it was due to me being very sick and on some sort of antibiotic when i was young before my teeth ever came in. Could that have happened to you when you were young? Or, have you ever had trama to your teeth? There is nothing really wrong with the tooth...it's just discolored. Next time you go back to the dentist mention it. I'm sure they know how to deal with it. Mine seems very noticiable to me, however, no one else seems to notice it.
