Call around, most dentists will give you an idea over the phone.
It's strange that you were told they all have to be removed. I would get a second opinion before I'd do anything so drastic. Go to a specialist for the opinion, Periodontists specialize in gum disease and bone loss which is the most common reason for tooth loss.

I'm not sure, but I know that it's a lot cheaper to get a tooth pulled than to try to save it, so it might not cost that much. Go to 1-800 dentists or something.

That seems reasonable, but I would check with the dental schools in your area to see what they charge as well. But if you decide to go with a school, get a teacher, not a student, if you can. Call around see what the rate is in your area.
