They used to be very poppular a few years back and you hear of them any more. I was wondering because my dentist says I am getting pockets in my gums and to make sure I clean will.

Yes, they are good for your teeth and gums, but do not overdo it on the setting. Setting it too high can damage your gums.

Sonciare toothbrushes are good.

I had terrible pockets and after having a quad scaling, I used a Sonicare, listerine, melaleuca oil on my gums and lots of flossing. I was able to heal all the pockets but three very deep ones that had bone loss. Those required surgery to add bone grafts.
I am healthy with no pockets now!!

I do think they are good for cleaning out creaves between your teeth, but honestly dental floss is better, takes longer, though. I purchased a sonicare dental kit for myself for Christmas and after I use it my teeth feel like they have just been cleaned by a professional, however my dentist is all for the Sonicare but he still recommends flossing. If your not going to floss, I would think a water pic would be my second choice. Why don't you call your dentists office and ask?

i don't think so. maybe if you have something large and visible stuck in there from time to time. but i think if you brush properly and floss that should be plenty
