I was diagnosed with TMJ when I was 13 years old, and am now 30. I went through 4 years of orthodontic work, and it gave me temporary relief from the pain.

Over the last 10 years, the pain came back, and keeps getting worse. Now it's to the point that I can feel my jaw pop out of place on a regular basis, and many days it hurts to even eat or talk. The pain has become so bad that some days I can't even funtion. Over the counter pain medicine is a joke, and does not even help at all. I have tried prescription pain medicine, it takes care of the pain but leaves me in a drugged state where I can't function - so that's not a great option. Any ideas, what has helped others???

By the way, I am a single mom and do not have insurance. So going to a specialist, etc. is not an option.

I recently noticed that on the top of my teeth on the top of my mouth and on the bottom of the teeth on the bottom of my mouth there are lines of brown and yellow. What is this? How do I get rid of it? Could it pose a potential problem?

I brush and floss my teeth every night.
I mouth wash every morning and night.

What could be causing this?

I've got a massively infected tooth that needs to be pulled, and I have TMJ. I've heard some people say that when your teeth move after an extraction, it makes TMJ worse. Can anybody tell me if I need to worry? The tooth being pulled is a top back molar, if that matters.

About half of my two front teeth are a few shades whiter than the rest of my teeth. I have had this before, but it went away. This is the worst it's been. I've read a bunch of other answers on white marks.. but they all say that it doesn't go away. Mine did before, so what else could it be?

Hi, I need some advice.Am in my 30's and the dentist told me I have a bad case of periodontal disease and that although I have great teeeth nothing in the world can save them ( my denstist's words).Basically my teeth have been coming loose from my gum and I already wear two partials some for my two top teeth and two bottom teeth.

Now here is the problem, my insurance only covers only $ 1500 worth of dental work. If I get the rest of my teeth pulled out @ 65 a tooth ( the cheapest I could find @ affordable dentures) it adds up to almost the total amount from insurance. I will be left with no teeth and no dentures!

So I have to come up with the rest of the balance to make the top and bottom set of dentures, am at a loss because I dont have this money. I know the least amount I have to have together on top of the $1500 dental insurance money is $1000. Any suggestions?

I had a tooth extracted last Tuesday. They had to cut my gums during the procedure. I have stitches that disolve. They are very annoying and I can feel them rubbing against my cheek and my gums. So how much longer until they are gone?

I was supposed to have braces for 2 years. Its been 2 and a half now. Almost everything is perfect, except that when I bite down, my teeth fits together like 90%. And that my 4 front teeth on my bottom jaw arent exactly straight and perfect. In the past months, my teeth were just getting a bit worse and worse and has come to this. Is this a result of having braces longer than needed? The dentists also arent making any progess in making them better. What do you think should be done?? HELP!!

I went to one dentist who choose which teeth to remove, the second one removed them but removed the wrong ones .
Wanted only 3 wisdom teeth removed they removed all 4 and didn't remove two teeth I wanted removed.
I thought that the 1st marked the correct ones, but I'm not sure.
What should I do?

I got my braces off on thursday (Feb. 15). I have been given a retainer which i wear on a daily basis however today, after brushing this morning, i forgot to put it back in. So I forgot to take it at school and i got home just now and it is 6 o'clock now. The retainer fit in my mouth diffrently (more tighter then usual) so i suspect my teeth have moved. I'm kind of worried. Is this normal and wil my teeth move back to where they were as long as I continue to wear my retainer or am i screwed?!

I have an appointment to have my 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed on April 20th. (the day after my birthday, FUN!)

I don't have the $2400 saved up to do it, (will probably get a loan) so i need to save every dime i can until then.

Hopefully won't have to finance all of it.

Are there any cheap/free ways to dull the pinching/pain/ache, of the teeth until i have them pulled out?

Also, i have the option of pill sedation or IV. Pill is $130 and IV is $400. Is it worth the extra money to get the IV? I'm on a very tight budget.

thanks,

I remember seeing a commercial with kids about a toothpaste that reveals cavities. If you brush with it and wherever there is a blue stain on your teeth, it means that you have cavities. Does anyone know the name of the toothpaste?

I had been suffering from toothache/infection off and on. Last Sunday during lunch, my old filling of several years just dropped.
On diagnosis, I was told that the tooth that it came from was broken. He extracted it and charged me £75.00. With the anaesthetic and x-ray it took about 10 minutes max. How has your experience been?
