it comes out of two small slits at the sides of your throat... it is white and has a odor

You most likely have infected adenoids. The "white stuff" is actually a type of puss. Do you have frequent allergies? Usually, if you start taking some type of antihistamine in conjunction with a decongestant, it will clear up quickly.. My ear nose and throat specialist told me that you could have surgery to have your adenoids removed--if it really bothers you that much. More than anything it's just a nuisance, and your breath smells when you have them. I swish with warm salt water and sometimes use a cotton swab to gently pop out the hard stuff that doesn't get swished away. I wondered for years what it was and went to many Drs who were stumped...until my ear nose and throat Dr. told me what it was. Hope this helps!!

Some people call them "throat scabs" or "white stinky stuff". Usually, when you're about to swallow, you'll feel as if this chunk of matter is trying to come up out of your throat and it makes you literally sick! As if you want to throw up! I know because both of my brothers had this as teenagers! You can hock it up and when you do, don't be alarmed. It's white, like you say and can come small or a little bigger. If you take a whiff, it smells really, really bad. Make sure you chew your food well before swallowing and it should lessen over time. Overall it is nothing to worry about. Happy hocking!

Sounds like a tonsillolith - a collection of plaque and decaying food matter that gets caught in the crypts of the tonsils. Harmless but annoying - cause bad breath. Only real solution is to have the tonsils out. Can try to control them by gargling regularly.

Post nasal drip. Comes with allergies and makes you feel like you have a nasty sore throat. It's greenish/whitish in color and has a raunchy smell.
