I had my tongue pierced at age 18. I took it out at age 21. Im almost 25....can i get it redone? and what about scar tissue? will it hurt worse? i really want it done again but im afraid of the pain. yes i got it done the first time so i cant be THAT afraid of pain. Well i passed out and barfed the first time. but i loved the ring in.....i want it again.....help with the scar tissue and pain questions please.

i would say yeah, ask the shop before you get it done. get a friend/lover to go with you to hold your hand. make sure it is someone who can take it. the scar tissue should not be a problem, they can probably put it through the same hole. some places have something they can put on you to numb you. i have heard that can increase risk of infection. i really can help much with the pain factor because i didn't feel any. i was still waiting for the guy to be done, and he told me he was.

i have taken mine out and it never grew back. i had it out for almost a year and put in the other day, went through no problem.

It is hard to piece scare tissue but the pain will be the same from the first time no big deal but if the whole it's not fully closed the can stretch it that can be a little pain full. I say you go and get it dune. It will not be that bad. Try getting your private pieced then we can talk about pain LOL

I got mine re-pierced but not in the exact same spot as they cant go through the scar tissue.they will do it just slightly behind the old hole.it actually hurts less and heals faster as your body knows how to react to it.

yea, i've done it. a month after my parents made me take it out, i got it repierced for haloween!!!
