I have had them since Aug. 17th 05 and they said around 18 - 20 months then about 4-6 months later they said 16 - 18 months...but I think it has already been 20, and they haven't done anything diff. for the past 16 weeks...but I haven't been wearing my Rubber bands...so Do you think I might get them off...or will they tell me like "come back in so and so days" warning before I get them off?

Ok, I have had braces before, and it sucks, I know. But really, you should wear your rubber bands. If you do what they tell you then you should get them off sooner. If not then they will have to postpone your appointment for getting them off. Trust me, I hated rubber bands, but it is totally worth it in the end. Good luck!! I hope you get them off soon!! : )

Honestly you won't know until you get there. Especially if you haven't been wearing your rubber bands, chances are it's going to take a little longer. They DO help close over bites.

Also, WEAR YOUR RETAINER! I didn't wear my retainer and now you can't even tell I had braces.

The 18-20 month ESTIMATE could have been off. I was in my braces for 27 months, and then one day they were just off! It's hard not to be anxious, but just be patient and you'll be fine!

Well actually it ussaly depends how bad it is. Sometimes it takes a year or four years. Now if they said 18-20 months thats about 2 years, maybe they might take it of in the middle of this year. But I think braces are cool i want to get some but my teeth dont need them. Don't worry i bet u look fine :) But just in case maybe u should wear ur rubber bands. And if you have retainers you should wear them too.

If they have been the same for so long, they should take them off already! You should be able to just wear a retainer for a couple of months until your teeth are stable again. They shouldn't have to 'warn' you so much in advance. Taking them off isn't something that you have to prepare for, you've already had them in the same position for months. That should be enough.

i do no longer think of it lowers your probabilities of having kissed. I had braces whilst my boyfriend first kissed me and we had no problems. i won't be in a position to enable you already know what it feels choose for to kiss a individual with braces simply by fact i replaced into the single with braces, yet i will assure you it would not decrease your probabilities of having kissed.

Honestly, the chances are unlikely. Unless they told you 'looks like your getting your braces off next time', it is not likely at all! And wearing your rubber bands does help... I actually just got my braces off today :) And they did tell me about it prior to my appt.

The rubber bands are a load of phony baloney. They don't do anything, and you can get by not wearing them.
