when i had braces and had to use the rubber bands, i only had to use them for a few months i think- no more than 6 months. but it really varies on a case by case basis. I also had to have headgear, which I wore at night- that was a longer process.

There isn't a set answer or time frame for everyone with this condition or problem. It's based on each patients individual case and how quickly they react to treatment. Some patients teeth move faster than others. Some patients teeth are worse or out of alignment more and require a little longer, or they aren't so bad and it takes the same amount of time or even longer for them because they didn't respond to treatment as expected or the same way as others. So you see, every one is an individual person and an individual patient. Hope I've helped you to understand this a little better.
