I fell on my face last night and now I have FOUR broken teeth on the front, upper-row.... Does anyone know how long it will take for me to have these repaired and look normal again?... I'm just looking for a rough estimate on how long I can expect to look like a freak... My heart truly goes out to anyone who has suffered through this ordeal. It really hurts your self-esteem more than anything....

I was talking to a family member about wisdom teeth and she said that everybody gets them removed because that's what you're "supposed" to do. I disagreed. I still have mine and I don't think I'm alone. So.....do you have yours or did you get them removed? Add detail if you want to, but you don't have to.

A family member of mine with sinus problems, has an extremely dry mouth. She drinks water off and on all day, uses hard candy, etc., but nothing seems to help for very long.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you for any comments.

It's been so cold, last Friday it was -30 C with the wind factor and I had a hot chocolate. I guess that I have burned my tongue. It was a bit sensitive after, but not much. Monday morning I was already having cold sores, inflamation of the gums, and my tongue is cracky. It's so painful evey time I eat something, I feel my tongue is burning! Can anybody suggest something?

I just had two wisdom teeth pulled today. I need help with the clotting... at first it wasnt too bad, but then i put another gauze pad on and all of a sudden it was bleeding worse than it was. I was using the gauze and then a teabag until about 4:00... hour for each. I stopped using anything for about 2 hours. I had my surgery at around noon and now it is 6:20 and its bleeding really bad again. What do I do? Maybe I am confused on the whole process... any help is appreciated. Thank you!!

My friends and I were looking at pictures and noticed that the people who previously had braces looked like they had teeth that were bigger than those that didn't. Does wearing braces push your gums back?

I had a root canal done 2 days ago, and even though it has only been 2 days, this was not my first rodeo. I have had at least 3 root canals done over the past 10 years. I do not remember having any pain after any of the previous procedures and that's why I am concerned about the severe pain that I am experiencing now. I am reluctant to go to an endo since my insurance will not cover it and I know that the procedure can be very costly. I am taking Ibuprofen, prescribed by my dentist. What I am wondering is, whether this pain will subside or if the root canal failed since the nerves should be dead, right?
I would appreciate any input.

I had the back lower two molars pulled (teeth #18) My dentist recommended implants or my teeth may shift and eventually fall out.

I can't afford them now ($5500) , but could save up for them in about a year and a half.

How long can you go without a tooth being present and still implant one?

I asked this question earlier this month and the answers went into voting before I got a chance to thank the people who helped me with their replies. I wanted to let you know the outcome to my situation. To summarize my original question: My dentist stated I needed a porcelain crown that would cost $1900. I asked if there were any alternatives, and he said no because the silver amalgam was leaking. My insurance would cover $390. The office manager said I should not delay too long to get the crown done or else I could end up needing a root canal.

I decided to look for more affordable dental treatments, and considered the dental school where the crown would cost $780. I asked for a copy of the x-rays, and the office manager at the dentist’s office seemed upset and asked me if I was going for a second opinion, and also didn’t want to give me the copy, but to directly send the x-rays to the second dentist. I told her I didn't have a second dentist set up yet.

I was down for a week with a really bad case of the flu and decided I was well enough to get out last night. While standing in line at the bowling alley, I became hot and disoriented and then I proceeded to pass out. When I fell, I landed on my mouth, thus breaking four teeth on the upper row between my canines. I went to the emergency room where they ran some tests and told me that I passed out from being dehydrated. The doctor figures I lost a lot of fluids during the past week while I had been sick. Anyway, here I am with no medical/dental insurance and four broken teeth. I MUST repair them.. as long as they are broken, I'll never get a good job and I can say goodbye to ever having a date. I am a musician, so I depend on my voice to make a living.... now I don't even have that. The way my teeth are sitting currently, it's hard to sound normal when I sing.... Anyway, has anyone out there been through this before?... What can I do?... Please help, I could certainly use some good advic

Does anyone know of anywhere (I'll pay if I have to) where I can get an alternative such as gas to dental injections? I have a serious needle phobia and am completely unable to let anyone inject in my mouth. Up to now I have been lucky and have no fillings (i'm 26) but have had to have treatment for gingivitis without injection which is agony. The dentist originally refused to do it and couldn't believe I went through with it, but frankly I'd take a whole load of pain to invoid an injection. My concern is that if I need root canal work or deeper gingivitis treatment I won't be able to cope... Will anyone give me gas in the UK?
