I fell on my face last night and now I have FOUR broken teeth on the front, upper-row.... Does anyone know how long it will take for me to have these repaired and look normal again?... I'm just looking for a rough estimate on how long I can expect to look like a freak... My heart truly goes out to anyone who has suffered through this ordeal. It really hurts your self-esteem more than anything....

As I said in my last response to you, it's not that simple to say since I have no idea how much tooth was broken, how much damage, if any, occurred to the roots. I wish I could say an hour or two, and that may be just how long it may take. But it could be much more severe, and we're talking about root canals, extractions, impressions, crowns and bridges. Like I said earlier, if your not having any pain, chances are good that your breaks aren't deep, or into the dentin. If that's the case you may be able to just have bonding, which is just like a composite or white filling that replaces the missing tooth structure. But you need to go see a dentist and have x rays to make sure you haven't damaged the nerve or fractured the root of the tooth. So, to answer your question, a couple of hours for the minimum amount of time, to several weeks with several appointments of an hour or more at each one, maximum amount of time. I hope you don't leave these teeth like this for too long, the breaks alone have traumatized the teeth. Leaving the teeth with the dentin exposed to hot, cold, air, and foods, will cause even more trauma that could lead to irreversible damage left untreated.

As soon as you can make an appointment with your dentist, they can fix it in no time (less than 2 hrs). Did you call them today? They can usually make an emergency appt for something like this. There's a slight possiblity that they won't have the exact color material by the time of your emergency appt. So, they may just use pure white to hold you off until they can fix 'em more permanantly. Even tho it doesn't totally match, it'll look better than having them all broken.

THINKINDI,
THIS IS A HARD QUESTION FOR ANYONE TO ANSWER ON THE INTERNET, ESPECIALLY A DENTIST.
WE DON'T KNOW IF THESE TEETH HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO BE SAVED. WERE THEY JUST CHIPPED,NEEDING SOME WHITE FILLINGS TO PATCH THEM UP? WAS THE NERVE EXPOSED NEEDING A ROOT CANAL? WERE THE TEETH FRACTURED VERTICALLY NEEDING AN EXTRACTION?
AS YOU CAN SEE WITH TRAUMA TO TEETH THERE HAVE TO MANY QUESTIONS ANSWERED BEFORE A CORRECT DIAGNOSIS CAN BE GIVEN. THE BEST THING FOR YOU TO DO IS SEE A DENTIST WHO HAS ALL THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND KNOWLEDGE TO GIVE YOU APPROPRIATE CARE.
BEST OFLUCK WITH YOUR TEETH.:-)

My ex husband knocked my front tooth out when I was 7 months pregnant. Self esteem was totally gone. All I could think about was getting the pregnancy over with, I had no money, and could not afford a new tooth until my daughter was about 5 months old.
I still get very emotionally upset over it. I have a fake tooth in the front of my mouth and when the police came because he knocked my butt in the dirt, they refused to arrest him because they said I had a choice to leave him.

Try this handy tip:

Cut an orange into quarters. Take the peel from one quarter and make a cut down the middle almost, but not totally, to the end. Now make small cuts at 90 degrees to the first cut.

Turn peel inside out and put it in your mouth.

Voila! instant false teeth

Well depends on the Dentist...they can give you temps till the caps/crowns come in and they feel funny, but if you don't tell and don't melt them with hot food/drinks, you're Ok...
You'll look 'normal' all the time, with the temps in place...and the crowns, will they'll match too.

you know teeth dont grow back right?....you need to contact a dentist...I am sorry to hear this happend to you...really....

there is so much advancement in denisty today...you will not even know what happened to you...

but, what i am thinking...is...did you fall on someones property? slip on some ice or something...as, you might have a law suit...go to the emergency room ...soon...perhaps tomorrow am...and, get a drs..report...tell him what happend (tell the truth)...and, then contact an attorney...if you actually did fall and slip on someones property...

good luck to u
