The dentist said that it would be fine and he's going to pull out 2 in 1 sitting because the pain is unbearable. My baby wont be harmed from the novocaine or lidocaine, right?

I understand why extreme temperatures like hot or cold can bother sensitive teeth, but I don't understand why sweet foods touching a tooth can cause sensitivity? For example, a Hershey bar isn't hot or cold -- it's just an inert piece of chocolate. So why do I get a sharp painful feeling when 1 or 2 of my molars chew the chocolate? :(

For the record, my dentist checked the area in question. There are no cracks in those teeth & no decay in their fillings -- he looked with his eyes PLUS took x-rays to be certain.

He said the teeth are probably just sensitive due to my nighttime bruxism (tooth clenching and/or grinding), or perhaps also because I used to use a somewhat abrasive whitening toothpaste. (I now use Sensodyne and it's definitely helping those teeth as well as ALL my teeth!) :)

What I don't understand is why SWEET causes me more pain on the affected molars than cold or hot? What does sweet do that temperature does not? (rhyme not intentional! *grin*)

I've had my braces off for about a year now.
I had a clear put in/take out retainer and my orthodontist said I don't need to wear it anymore.
Can my teeth still become crooked?

In front of my mouth is no teeth and they have rotten and roots are still inside the gums. Will it be painful for them to go and pull the roots out. I have had a bad encounter with a dentist and would like to know of a good dentist. What procedure can I look forward to having. I would appreciate someone that has been through this before.

I am looking for a reputable Canadian pharmacy that someone has been using and feels comfortable with. I've done some checking and several sound good but would feel more comfortable with a referral. Thanks.

I thought I was too old to get braces like 6 years ago so I just did some veneers on my front 4 teeth...My teeth were not that bad...My dentist did them but he had to do them like 4 times and he ended up puting me some porcelin caps. On the last time I did them, I just kept them but they still looked grey to me...I was just tired of going through pain...As the years went by, I just finished doing a root canal on one of the teeth...Now I'm wishing that I just put braces on instead of doing this b/c it was soooo expensive(1400 a tooth =5600).Does anyone else have that problem?

I really wasn't in pain until, the densist said that I had a few cavities. I had 2 fillings put in on two teeth (resin type-same color as my teeth)and It's been like a month now since. My teeth feel bigger I guess from the extra layers on it but during the day and night, I'm in sooo much pain...Feels like a pair of pliers are squeezing that area in my gums and trying to pop my tooth out...it's killing me! What can be the cause?

So I finally quit smoking, been 2 weeks today. But my teeth have taken some damage from smoking all those years. Ive tried the reg crest white strips and they didnt work. I was looking into the White strips prfoessional you get at dental offices. I would just do it it the ol fashion way but dont have the extra 400 to spend. Any tips?

My 3 yr old daghter has very bad breath. It started all of a sudden about a week ago. I brush her teeth twice a day (now like three) since she had them, she has beautiful white teeth. We brush tongue too. I even floss her about once a week and she uses mothwash but it just doesn't work, about ten min after brushing the breath is back. I think it's not her teeth but her stomach. Anybody has any experiences with this?

P.S. She doesn't eat too much sweets, but she does eat a lot of protein. I thoght that might be it so I tried to cut down on protein in her diet last couple days but nothing changed :-((

Just one tooth, that's been sensitive ever since I got a filling in it. It's not terribly painful, just teribly annoying.

I do use sensodyne, and I do remember the dentist mentioning the possiblity of putting a cap on it. Would that help?

Any other suggestions?
