My DMD took two x-rays. In both x-rays...the mass was present. She referred me to an Oral Surgeon, and he also took two x-rays. (The x-rays from my previous DMD show no mass below the roots. I had x-rays taken less than two years ago). I had a biopsy today, and my DMD said that she will have my results in a few days. Could this just be a cyst? Can a mass just disappear? Is this normal?

I had to have one of my front teeth replaced. I opted for the cheaper bridgwork over implants. While it doesn't hurt it does very unnatural especially when I bite down.

When I went to the dentist back in May, he said I would probably have to get my wisdom teeth removed in early 07' because there is "not much room". He said that I wouldn't be put to sleep, but I would still have an IV. I thought that you only get the IV when you are going to be put to sleep? Also, I just went back to the dentist for my check-up, like 3-4 weeks ago, and he didnt say anything about my wisdom teeth. One is already half-way through, the other three are close to coming through. The one that is already somewhat through gives me pain every so often and the other three just feels like alot of pressure. I want to see if I can get them out sooner, but I really dont want to be put to sleep for the surgery. If my other three don't erupt by Dec/Jan, then can I still have the local anaesthetic? Thanks

He's going to be 13 this year and he asked me if he should get braces. I think that he should make his own choice but maybe I'll give him a suggestion. His teeth aren't that crooked but 2 or 3 teeth are out of order. I say yes but you guys give me your thought. Yes or No?

I had a flu jab last week and I have an abcess and am taking antibiotics now. What is making me feel so yucky? :(

At the beginning of October, I started getting headaches and became worried because they were there everyday, from morning to night. Then I discovered a huge lump over a tooth. I went to the dentist and she said I had a abcess and needed a root canal. I was on antibiotics for 25 days because they were not working. For the first week the headaches went away. I am on the list for a root canal but haven't gone yet. Well the headaches are back and the whole top of my scalp tingles. How can this be related. The dentist said it could cause headaches but now it more tingling than headaches. Can this all be related? Please advise...

I had an underbite and the orthodontist fixed it, then they put in braces to bring my teeth together, and then they gave me a retainer for my upper and lower jaw, if i don't wear those retainers, will my underbite come back, or will my teeth get messed up?

What if i only wear my top retainer, will my underbite come back?

Please don't tell me to go to a dentist... I know. I have $-194 in the bank... yes that's negetive $194... plus the $30 they're gonna take out for the nsf. I have no insurance.

I got a root canal in this tooth about 16 years ago. They put in a fake tooth that looks exactly like the real ones, except this one has a small amount of metal-gray looking stuff at the top of it right next to the gums. It has been fine except on occasion it would slightly hurt when bitten down on... Not anymore!

This tooth has put me in utter misery for the last four days, worse everyday. I've taken so much otc pain medicine, I get sick just thinking of taking another one. So now i haven't taken any for 8 hours. I probably just need some antibiotic for it, but I can't get it unless I pay hundreds of dollars for office visits and x-rays, whatever work they want to do... plus the cost of the antibiotic! At this point, I may drink a tube of neosporin. Why is this even happening? It has a root canal!!!

I have receding gums. I already brush morning & evening & after meals, and I floss daily, but I want to do everything in my power to keep my mouth as clean as possible, so that my gums don't continue to recede. So I want to begin using mouthwash... but I find Listerine and other mainstream / commercial mouthwashes to be way too harsh.

My question is, if I use one of the "natural" brands (like "Tom's of Maine," etc.), will it actually be *effective* at reducing bacteria? (I tend to think that the milder mouthwashes are only meant to freshen breath.)

Thank you!!!!!! :D (that's my toothy grin.. haha)

My dentist started the 1st stage of a root filling today but couldn't remove the nerves due to the pain I was experiencing. He reckoned giving me further anaesthetic wouldn't have helped. When the infection has cleared up am I still going to experience pain when he tries again?
