Probably the antibiotics. The abscess can't help and I personally have this thing against getting flu shots ...I just don't do it. They seem to make people feel worse than better.

A tooth abcess will certainly make you feel yuck---and combined with the flu shot, your body is working overtime to fight off the abcess infection AND working to produce the new antibodies for the flu!
Good luck. Get lots of rest--you need it!

Flu shots only stop viruses. A change of weather could make you feel yucky, obviously a flu shot wouldn't stop that because that's not a virus, or is it inhaled from the body.

Infections viral (the flu) and bacterial (the abscess) stimulate the release of a variety of hormones and inflammatory mediators (chemicals) that redirect your bodies energy to fighting the infection. Additionally, the infection disrupts the normal function of you body. In the case of the flu, the virus infects cells. Those cells in turn are redirected from their normal function into pumping out more virus. Bacteria tend to destroy tissue (in this case creating an abscess), but they also release a variety of chemicals that are toxic.
Severe infection take a lot of energy (calories) to fight, so naturally you will feel fatigued. The achiness and fever are due to the chemicals your body produces to fight the infection, and the chemicals made by the infecting organism itself.

Flu jab won't be making you feel yucky, you probably had an underlying virus before (or just after) you got it. You should be feeling better soon if that's all it is.

That is expected. When you have a common cold, the virus entering your body causes general symptoms of fever, body ache and headache, etc. That`s because the virus is in your blood, and it stimulates reactions that causes those symptoms. The same happens when you have an abscess. In addition, some antibiotic may cause drowsiness or nausea etc. So, my advice to you will be to REST until it`s over,

I would wager that it's the antibiotics. the flu shot is a dead virus and shouldn't be making you ill. I know some people swear up and down that they get sick from it....but that's another discussion. on the other hand, various antibiotics can cause all kinds of side effects. neasua, yeast infections, headaches, etc.

Your body has been under attack from two fronts. Any type of an infection can take its toll on your body. Drink plenty of fluids, rest when you feel tired, eat well and let our body heal itself. It will take time, don't rush it.
