Please don't tell me to go to a dentist... I know. I have $-194 in the bank... yes that's negetive $194... plus the $30 they're gonna take out for the nsf. I have no insurance.

I got a root canal in this tooth about 16 years ago. They put in a fake tooth that looks exactly like the real ones, except this one has a small amount of metal-gray looking stuff at the top of it right next to the gums. It has been fine except on occasion it would slightly hurt when bitten down on... Not anymore!

This tooth has put me in utter misery for the last four days, worse everyday. I've taken so much otc pain medicine, I get sick just thinking of taking another one. So now i haven't taken any for 8 hours. I probably just need some antibiotic for it, but I can't get it unless I pay hundreds of dollars for office visits and x-rays, whatever work they want to do... plus the cost of the antibiotic! At this point, I may drink a tube of neosporin. Why is this even happening? It has a root canal!!!

You know , you have a severe infection ,

and if left, it can only get worse

can you go, to your Doctor or Emergency A & E dept

You need antibiotics and pain relief NOW

not later, when you may develope blood poisoning

I do so hope you can get some relief soon

best wishes

I would contact your local college that has a dental school and see if they can help. A lot of colleges will do work for cheap or free so that they can use the info they gather for research and/or teaching. Even if it's not free, perhaps they can work with you on billing you for the work done and it will be MUCH cheaper than a regular dentist. It does not hurt to ask! Most likely, they will give you a 'script for an antibiotic, but don't fear...if you're in the U.S., most Targets, Giant Eagles and Wal-marts have free or very cheap antibiotics these days. Or you could tell the dentist that you cannot afford a script and ask taht they give you samples.

What you asked us not to say I must, see a prof.!!! You cant do anything about it unless you get intoxicated and have a friend pull the tooth out for you. Then you could even get an infection. Which it sounds like it is in the first place. Pulling the tooth wont get rid of an infection though. Do you have a friend that has anti biotics?? I wouldnt sug. taking anyone elses meds esp. because it would probably be left over and not enough to get rid of it in the first place. but if you are that set agianst going to the dentist what choice do you have. Cant you go to the emergency room? They cant refuse service to you. You can pay them payments.
