I thought I was too old to get braces like 6 years ago so I just did some veneers on my front 4 teeth...My teeth were not that bad...My dentist did them but he had to do them like 4 times and he ended up puting me some porcelin caps. On the last time I did them, I just kept them but they still looked grey to me...I was just tired of going through pain...As the years went by, I just finished doing a root canal on one of the teeth...Now I'm wishing that I just put braces on instead of doing this b/c it was soooo expensive(1400 a tooth =5600).Does anyone else have that problem?

I have veneers my self and I work for a dentist. The grayness is probably caused from the tooth being dead. You mentioned having a root canal and the discoloration is normal. There is a procedure called internal bleaching that your dentist can do but you will probably have to redo the crown (cap)....Sorry. If there was decay in the teeth the root canal may have happened anyway and you would have still needed to crown the tooth or teeth. So then you would have spent $$ on braces and crowns.

You are NEVER too old for braces. I've seen people in their 70s with them.
