I just og tmy braces off recently and I'm confused. Am I supposed to wear my retainer while I eat or should I take it off, also is it safe to put my retainer in a small bowl of mouth wash and soak it to keep it clean or will it corode the plastic?

Hi all.. I've visited a dentist and to straighten my teeth, I will need orthognathic surgery on top of braces.. Had anyone been thru that? How is it like? Surgery scares me off..

I've been having a tightness in my jaw/teeth for a while, it was great yesterday. But I woke up today to the Sana Anna Winds and it started to really bother me later on today, especially after I went out. Sometimes I feel the pain in my head and back of head. And its just a annoying pressure, but it is turning into a pain. Well, are my parents right in saying it could be Sinuses?

I was talking to somebody the other day about the fact that some people spend so much time trying to keep their teeth in perfect shape and somehow they always end up with cavities - And then there's the other type of person who barely has to brush their teeth and they stay cavity-free, and that got me thinking. What if toothpaste has some kind of substance that slowly deteriorates teeth? Wouldn't dentists just recommend this type of thing so that they can make a profit margin?

I'm not normally the kind of guy who bothers with conspiracies, but it's definitely a weird concept. Maybe it's not just in our genes...

anyone know what this is? My tongue has never been "smoothe" like a normal tongue...it has what appears to be cuts in it, but they don't heal (or bleed). sometimes they become irritated and painful but not too often...they are more just gross looking. any clues??

bone damage.. but I can of course get a bridge now..
I need to hear from someone who has had a missing front tooth.
I want to know what it's like have a bridge like this, in front?

They will have to cut down my two teeth on either side of the missing tooth and they will put in a three tooth bridge.. Will this feel like my "normal teeth?" Will my speech be affected (because there is a small space left above the center tooth, so it can be flossed?)
Any personal experiences you can relay will be appreciated.
I just want to do the right thing for myself, and once I've had the teeth on both sides of my missing tooth ground off, it will be too late, if it's the wrong thing to do?

So if you have had this experience, or know someone who has, please write to me and give me your thoughts...?
Thanks very much...

I am going to Cantibury England and I am wondering if the dental cost there are cheaper then here in the US. I need to have denture but they want 5000 dollars for upper and lower one. Would it be cheap to have it done when I am there, I will be there for 3 months?

My teeth aren't that bad, except one of my top front teeth that sticks out. I actually chipped my teeth as a child and when I was about fifteen my dentist put a crown on it, which I had braces at the same time. When my braces were taking off, my teeth came off. I couldn't were my retainers after the dentist put in a new crown because it hurt my mouth and didn't fit well. What can I do to my tooth to straighten it, or would I have to get my whole top row done??? Please help........

2 weeks ago I had 2 teeth out 1 was particularly (sp) difficult to remove and the dentist had to give me an injection 4 times because I could feel what she was doing. Because I get anxiety attacks I took half a Lorazepam about an hour before I went. I had been home for about an hour or so when all of a sudden I felt very shivery and I looked very pale so I decided I'd go to bed to see if I felt better, I didn't and ended up taking 2 Ibruprofen and those just made me feel hot, not sweating, just very hot. So could it have been a reaction to the injections or maybe even a reaction between the Lorazepam and injections? Or just 1 of those things?I have to go back for more treatment and I'm a bit concerned about it all really. Thanks for any help you can give.
