I'm confused?

I just og tmy braces off recently and I'm confused. Am I supposed to wear my retainer while I eat or should I take it off, also is it safe to put my retainer in a small bowl of mouth wash and soak it to keep it clean or will it corode the plastic?

Yes, take your retainer out when you eat. Try not to put it on a napkin or anything like that, cause it could accidentally get thrown away.

It's OK to soak it in mouth wash. You can also try a denture cleaner. Efferdent is a good one. Also....try to brush it w/ your tooth brush after soaking.

Please don't stop wearing you retainer. You may not notice it now, but through the years your teeth will start to shift back into there normal position. Maybe not as severe, but you will notice a difference.

You're supposed to take your retainer off when you're eating. You can soak it in mouthwash, but you probably might want to get some kind of denture cleaner to soak it in. That may keep it clean a little better.

NO! You're not suppose to wear your retainers while eating. I think it is safe to soak it in a bowl of mouthwash.

hay i used to have a retainer and it is fine to wear your retainer while eatting...i dont think you really need to keep your retainer in a bowl of mouth wash...you only really need to clean it (with toothpaste and your tooth brush) and then put it in the case that your orthadontist should have given you...if you dont have a case then maybe just keep it in a glass or sumthing (it can have water or nothing in it, it doesnt really matter) and then just rinse it before putting it back in your mouth and everything will be fine and dandy. hope you are no longer confused:-)

I only wear mine at night, and I soak it in retainer cleaner...you can buy it at any drug store.
