Hi all.. I've visited a dentist and to straighten my teeth, I will need orthognathic surgery on top of braces.. Had anyone been thru that? How is it like? Surgery scares me off..

My daughter had this surgery and the results were totally amazing. Braces alone just couldn't have given her this amazing perfect smile. She had only her upper done and seriously she says it didn't really hurt. The jaw goes temporarily numb for a short time and by the time the feeling returns the jaw is healed.
The worse she said was the nose being stopped up and she couldn't blow her nose for 6 weeks because her sinuses were cut to do the surgery.
She told me should would do it again in a heart beat that it wasn't bad at all. You can write me directly if you wish.

I had to have a surgical treatment for a similar factor completed. The healthcare expert suggested it exchange into heredity. In my case they decrease the bone in 2 places and under pressure out it in the right place and then under pressure out my mouth close for 3 months there exchange into no soreness in touch because of the fact the nerves have been decrease. I had to drink beverages for 3 months and the 1st week exchange into particularly no longer common through swelling , I had to apply a straw to drink with. My daughter has a similar factor yet she refuses to get the surgical treatment.
