I am 40 yrs old. Female, About 328 lbs (stable weight for several years). I have Lupus and Fibromylagia which cause me a great deal of pain.

The Fibro and Lupus are becoming a great disability and I know my weight isn't helping the issues at all. I am on about a dozen different meds a day just to function. I've tried to diet and I don't lose anything, not even water weight. I've been thinking for a few years about having the by-pass or lap band surgery but I'm really scared on so many levels.

Please share your experience and weather you would do it again or not. I'd even love to hear from family members of weight loss surgery patients, especially if they had/have Lupus and/or Fibro.

If you go to sleep at night and throughout the night you keep getting woken up by the slightest noise. Such as crickets chirping, someone(that lives with you) bump into furniture or getting a drink, cats fighting outside, dog barking,

What is this sleeping disorder called and how can it be treated?

I think I have a cold coming, I feel like crap. I already take a multi vitamin, would taking vitamin c tablets in addition to this for a short period of time be pointless or have a negative effect on my health?

The water system in our town was contaminated when a sewer was routed into the water supply. What is safe? I have purchased water for drinking and cooking and doing dishes. What about doing laundry and taking showers? They say it will be a week before we can safely use the water again; is that true? My dishwasher has a sanitizing cycle. Will that work for dishes or should I boil the water and do them by hand? They say we can use the water if we boil it for 1 minute; is that true?

I've got a very swollen knee and it's starting to swell on the thigh above it now. It's been like this for 2 days. I went to the ER and he is very concerned that there could be a MRSA staph infection in there. I have MRSA and have sores elsewhere. My knee hurts so bad! He gave me Darvocet which is like a joke for this pain. He wanted to do an aspiration where he draws out fluid to check to see if it MRSA. I guee that this also will relieve the pressure too and make it less painful afterwards, right? I am just so terrified of those numbing needles. The knee is so sensitive and I know it'll hurt really bad. I couldn't do it so he gave me antibiotics and told me to come back if it didn't improve. Well, now it's a bit worse. I don't have a fever though. The pain is much worse as well. He said he could give me a pill that would kind of knock me out for the procedure and I wouldn't remember much. I know I sound like a big baby. Should I go today? How serious could this be?

After a month on Zoloft I went for a check up and let my doc know I felt 75% better. Then a couple days later I started pms-ing. One of my problems is PMDD, I still had the bad pms. And another problem was getting all freaked out while driving, I still have that from time to time as well. I was wondering if I should call my doc and have my prescription upped or not??? I don't want to mess myself up anymore. My doctor is only a family doctor... so that's why I'm asking for your advice before I call him. Thanks!

i have had really bad nausea (but not been vomiting at all, just feeling like I am about to vomit ALL the time - especially when moving - i.e car, bus, train etc, and also when I lie down to go to sleep - I cannot lie on my back as then I just feel too sick) This has been going on for about 6-8 months - first really noticed it when I had some wisdom teeth infections and tonsillitis at the same time, but then after those got fixed up I felt a bit better, and now feel really sick again. I also broke my leg a few months ago so have been feeling extra nauseous but was still feeling really nauseous prior to that as well.

I am busy (have a toddler to look after, study full time, and work part time from home, and walk my 2 dogs) but just feel sick and tired ALL the time - even when I get to have plenty of sleep and rest.

Has anyone had anything similar??? My throat is a bit sore as well.

I am trying to decide if I will get the flu shot this year, but don't want to do so if there will be a shortage as in recent years. I would prefer that those individuals with greater need than myself get the shot. Any idea how the supply is looking this year?
