My family have a history of heart attacks and strokes. I have had a full Hysterectomy and my doctor has put me on HRT.
I dont want to further my risk of a heart attack or a stroke and wonder if anyone knows of a natural remedy i can take instead of HRT?

There are a lot of them out there. Do some research, I googled DHEA and found a wealth of information on that, there is also black cohosh, and soy estrogens. I don't blame you for not wanting to take HRT, there are a great many risks involved, and if you smoke, you are at even greater risk. Good luck.

I don't know but I did want to warn you to make sure your dr checks your cholesterol and keeps an eye on your arteries for blockages. My hysterectomy led to so many awful changes in my body, and I had to stop the HRT because the danger of stroke. I wish I could have kept my ovaries...they were healthy. My surgeon should have his testicles removed. Interesting how anxious drs are to take a woman's ovaries but not nearly so excited about taking a man's gonads. Anyway, I have a blockage in my artery now. So be careful. Best wishes to you.

Google natural health /remedy and you will have a lot of sites with suggestions from women who use natural remedy for menopause symptoms and how effective they find the said remedies.

Dont forget also, that even though some of these remedies are natural, they can still have side effects and induce reactions if they interract with any other medication you happen to be on.
