What is this sleeping disorder called and how can it be treated?

it may be a sleeping disorder. I think that you are not getting into the deep sleep stages, known as REM sleep and therefore you awaken easily and you don't get a restful night sleep. Talk to your doctor and see if he can either prescribe something for you. Or you could try some old fashioned home remedy's like ear plugs, or cotton balls.

I suspect you are so easily awakened because you are never getting into the deep stages of sleep. I suggest you talk to your doctor about a sleep study.

DOESNT SOUND LIKE A SLEEPING DISORDER, SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE JUST A LIGHT SLEEPER AND NOT GETTING INTO R.E.M. WHICH IS THE DEEP SLEEP. I WOULD TRY MAKING SURE YOU GET TO BED AT A NORMAL TIME. SOME PEOPLE DONT NEED A LOT OF SLEEP. TRY DOING RELAXATION BEFORE YOU GO TO BED TO HELP GET YOU INTO THE DEEP SLEEP. YOU CAN ALSO TRY VALERIAN WHICH IS A NATURAL FORM OF SLEEP AIDE. ANOTHER THING YOU CAN TRY IS A HOT CUP OF TEA, HAVING SOME KIND OF RELAXATION CD PLAYING OR NATURE NOISES.
IF YOU ARE CONCERNED NEVER HURTS TO ASK A DOCTOR OPINION. JUST REMEMBER THEY WILL THROUGH MEDICATIONS YOUR WAY-OR THEY USUALLY DO ANYWAY.
