hi - I've been on blood pressure meds for a while - it pretty much runs in the family - my blood pressure has been increasing over the last month - and I have been taking 20 mg enalapril in the morning and 50 mg of toprol in the evening - when it first started increasing they said I could go to 100 of toprol if needed, and then my bp was down for several days - and has been ok. this morning when I woke up though I knew it was very high - I took my enalapril waited 30 minutes and then took my bp - (I was scared to take it when it was so high) and then after a half hour it was down to 166/146 or so - but still quite high.

so I plan to go to 100 for sure tonight since they said I could. it seems like I"m fine when moving around but when I sleep it goes quite high.
I don't know why. it is baffling to me.

thanks

I've been on glipizide (low dose: 1.25mg BID) for 2 years with pretty good control but it makes me always hungry and headachy. I decided to switch to metformin (500mg BID) a few days ago, thinking it would make me less prone to hypoglycemia. However, the hunger and headache are worse yet I think I'm more thirsty. (Needless to say, I don't test.) Obviously I need to suck it up and do some testing, but shouldn't metformin make me less likely to hypo?

So yeah, I got a box of those ThermaCare HeatWraps for this pain on my neck.
I am diabetic and I just realized the box said "Ask a doctor before use if you have diabetes."
I really dont want to ask my doctor, but can anyone tell me if there's any higher risks of use for a diabetic or whatever?

I've had a severe headache for 3 days now. Over the counter medication does not help - not even migraine tablets. I have seen the out of hours GP today who gave me Codeine and diclofenac which took most (but not all) the pain away but left me feeling really drugged and dozy. I won't be able to work like that, especially as I have to fly to Southampton (from Yorkshire) on Monday for 2 days. I'm drinking at least 2-3 litres of water or water based drinks (i.e. sugar free diluted cordials, etc), plus my usual tea (about 4-6 large mugs a day). I exercise, I've been going out to the park with my son to get some fresh air, etc. but it won't shift. I know it's not a migraine as I have those occassionally and this is different - across the top of my head rather than over my eyes where I would normally get migraine pain, although I am sensitive to light. Any suggestions as to what this could be or what else I could do to ease the pain without being drugged up?

this is because I can't wear contact lenses due to an eye irritation, and i don't have a pair of glasses, nor do any of my family members. my eyesight is poor, about 3.00, and i have to go to school on monday, but i won't be able to see. is there a way i can get a pair of glasses before monday? thanks

from what my mom tells me, if i want to get glasses, i'll have to order them and it'll take weeks.

im a baller, an artist, and video gamer. for about 3 weeks, over the summer, i played basketball at the y for 2 hours, and then when i come back from playing basketball, i play video games and i draw. then one day, my arm felt weak. i couldnt shoot very well in basketball. cuz my arm was weak, but i dont feel any pain. my doctor said, dont worry about it. i dont trust my doctor lol. anyways, what is this?? is this strained elbow?? or tennis elbow?? or is it nothing that it my arm becomes weak when i overuse my arm??

most people who had strained elbow or tennis elbow, they said there is alot of pain and weakness on ur arm.
but i dont have pain, its just weak.

my parents think that sometimes it happens when i overuse my arm
my right arm (good arm) is weaker than my left arm (weaker arm). if i feel my right arm, there are less muscles than left arm now. its been a month. my arm is kinda sore, just when im playin basketball. what should i do?? what is this?? IS THIS PERMANENT?thx

I believe I have a serious case of social anxiety disorder although I have never been professionally tested (due to the fact that I'm scared to see a doctor about it -- go figure).

I have been with my fiance for a year and I almost break down into massive panic attacks everytime I am in the company of his parents. I have become unglued at dinner with them, spilling water all over the table due to my shaking hands. I avoid most of their family parties and claim either sickness or another event to attend. My fiance even says my nervousness is very noticeable and that I sometimes look like a complete mess. He tells me all the time to calm down and act myself, but I can't. I don't know why this happens to me but it does.

This happens with other things as well. I am petrified to continue my education and go off to college. I attempted it but I was nervous everyday in class and uneasy. I am a day care teacher and speaking with my boss and the children's parents is a STRUGGLE! Help me!

Well, I haven't had sex for about 2 1/2 years and I had sex yesterday and the next day my vaginal area felt a bit sore, like a bit stiff and I kind of assume it would be normal since its been so long since Ive had sex or done anything sexual stuff. So I was wondering, does it sound pretty normal or it something to worry about?
