the amount of calories expended during exercise is dependent on the body weight of the individual and the intensity of exercise. a 200 lb person will burn substantially more calories per hour than a 100 lb person, both science and common sense tells us that.

determine your BMR then divide that by 24, that will be how many calories "you" burn per hour of walking

You will burn about 100 calories for each mile you travel whether you walk or run.

It does not matter how fast or slow you move it is still the same amount of calories. Does that make sense?
The reason is if you run fast you burn more calories per minute but finish faster, if you walk slowly you burn fewer calories but take much longer to finish.

So don't worry about your speed just get in your distance.

It depends on your height and body weight and how fast or slow you walk. I suggest you get a pedometer (you can get it from target or walmart, or basically any "big" stores
