You might want to try a pro-biotic. You can get them in most health food stores or places like GNC. Pro-biotics make sure you have a good amount of the healthy bacteria in your digestive system, so it is easier to digest your food. Taking things like Imodium will interrupt the balance of the GI tract, making you constipated, so you have to take another pill to relieve that.....probiotics keep your GI in a natural balance. This can also be accomplished by eating yogurt or Kifir, with active cultures, on a daily basis.

When eating foods that make a lot of gas (beans, cabbage, etc), try Beano. Beano is simply an enzyme so it will not upset the GI balance either.

Happy eating

Although excessive flatulence can cause bloating and pain, it rarely indicates a serious medical problem. Most gas is the by-product of bacteria fermenting food in the intestines. Certain foods--especially beans, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, onions, apples, bananas, and cherries--have reputations as gas producers, although their effects vary from person to person. Other causes are the air from carbonated beverages, swallowing air while chewing with the mouth open, and inadequately chewed food. Less common culprits are allergies, postnasal drip, lactose intolerance, malnutrition, high-fiber foods, bulkforming laxatives, and certain medications, including cholesterol- lowering drugs and tranquilizers. More rarely, flatulence may be a symptom of an underlying medical condition, such as irritable bowel syndrome.
