this is because I can't wear contact lenses due to an eye irritation, and i don't have a pair of glasses, nor do any of my family members. my eyesight is poor, about 3.00, and i have to go to school on monday, but i won't be able to see. is there a way i can get a pair of glasses before monday? thanks
from what my mom tells me, if i want to get glasses, i'll have to order them and it'll take weeks.

There are eye glass places that have a lab on site and can grind the lenses within a few hours. I don't know where you are but we have a place called Lenscrafters that you can get new glasses same day. However, you would probably need a prescription to have it done.

Go to the local dollar store or to Walmart (where they will be more expensive) and try on the different reading glasses they have available. They are in different strengths and may be fine for you. Try on the different strengths and then read the small print that is on the display (or get a magazine or a pill bottle to see if you can read the print comfortably). If they work, you have the problem solved. Good luck.

Some of the big chains - like Pearle Vision, LensCrafters, Cohen's Optical, etc. can make glasses right on the spot for you - and give you an eye exam.
Do a web search for "glasses in an hour" and see what you get in your area.
Good luck!!

No you need to call around. There are places that have the lab right there. Call and find out if they can do emergency glasses. Can't your Mom write you an excuse for a few days until you can get them? Most parents would do this. I know my Mom would.

Why don't you try the magnifying glasses sold at chain stores until you can get your glasses. It will not take that long to get prescription glasses - Just make a appointment with a eye doctor and you should have them soon. I had the same problem and the magnifying glasses worked well until I could get my prescription.

yes, you will need to go to a dr to get a prescription for the right lenses and that can take a while, but you can sit closer in class, and you can even try going to a drug store and seeing if any of their reading glasses help for the time being.

Check the eye glass rack at Wal-Mart. They won't be exact, but they should get you by until you heal. They are usually under $20. Go over to the pharmacy aisles.

Actually, you will have to order them, and it could take weeks--actually, I have heard that they can get the classes in in 5-7 business days in some cases.
Just don't wear contacts this weekend and maybe you can get them in on Monday?
