The HPV vaccine has been approved for use in males aged 9 to 15 in Australia, although the evidence of its effectiveness in males is not as strong as that for females. This might simply be because it hasn't been tested in males as much.

It has not been approved for use in males in most countries, though - they are waiting on further evidence.

If you are keen to have it, you can ask your doctor to prescribe it "off label". This simply means prescribing it for a purpose it hasn't officially been approved for yet. It is quite legal, but you will pay full price, and it won't be covered by insurance. You can discuss the pros and cons of this with your doctor.

A guy can get the vaccination against the HPV however insurance will not cover it. He will have to pay for it himself and this costs around $300 - $500. I think it's very well worth it!

Gardisil has not been approved for use in males. They are working on it though, be patient, I think it will be approved.
