For instance, I've read in a magazine that drinking saltwater would dehydrate our bodies, but I've also heard that salt is also necessary to maintain the water in our bodies while we exercise. So what is true?

BTW Is it salt or actually sodium (can they be interchangable) ?

Good evidence would be necessary for a good answer :D
Thanks if you're actually trying to help

My boyfriend and I are trying to lose some weight so we got this other couple to join us. Instead of going to the gym we decided to go play tennis. We have been playing tennis for about 2-1/2 weeks now. Yesterday was weigh in day for all of us. Turns out everyone lost about 4-10 lbs, I lost 1 lb. Now i'm bummed out because I've only lost 1 lb. I've been eating pretty good-chicken and broccolli almost everyday-cut back on soda intake(only drink one 12oz. can) as to drinking about 3 a day. what am i doing wrong??? any tips would be helpful-thanks

I just went to my doctor and found out it was Shingles of all things I thought it was. Blows my mind, wtf? How the heck do you catch this?
I already had the chicken pox and the shingles but my doc said you can get shingles more then once and I am highly conatigious so I need to be like locked in a room so I don't infect people. j/k I am not locked up. lol! But, basically thats what he said to do. But, I have to work and I need the money? How long does it last? How many times have you had it? Did you take Valtrex? How was it? Side effects?
Thanks!

I've had a nasty looking right tonsil for over 2mo now that has had the same mild pain associated with it. Strep is already ruled out and my doctor is sending me to an ear/nose/throat specialist to check further into it. Thanks!

Cereal, sandwiches and eating out are so much easier and faster. I actually like cooking and baking, but when I'm hungry I don't want to waste time preparing and I don't want to have to clean up afterwards.

Somedays I get out of bed and my back hurts from a bulging disc, but the part that bothers me is other days my back feels fine. Seems like I can go 3-4 days with no pain and then about 3 days with horrible pain. I do nothing that I know of to bring this pain on. It really confuses me. I feel as though its my fault but I do nothing to deserve it.

I've been eating a lot of carrots lately, and I've noticed that under certain lighting, my skin looks BRIGHT ORANGE when compared to others. In sunlight it is difficult to see, but when I'm indoors I have an odd orange-ish glow. I eat about a cup of carrots daily.. but with my low body weight (98 pounds) is this too much? Is it bad to eat so many carrots?

I am a 16 year old girl. as far as i am concerned i am in good shape, i eat right, but i eat a little bit too much junk food but i don't gain weight too easily which is great, im 5'5 and around 132-135 lbs, i have curvy hips and a flat stomache. anyway... the past couple months i have been having an annyoying pain in my right hip. every morning i wake up and it hurts and it continues to hurt throughout the day and sometimes if i move a certain way it will pop and it hurts so bad! i was wondering what is causing this to happen.. could it be growing pains... could it be the bed i sleep on? could it be the lack or exercise? should i do more pilates ? could it be serious? someone please tell me

I've NEVER had this problem before. The last month I have not been able to sleep at night. I feel tired and get in bed, but lay there for hours and only end up getting about 4 hours per night. Then I'm SO tired the next day so that I can hardly function. I've missed work because of it. A few nights I've just been laying there and my heart starts racing, but I don't feel worried or anxious or anything like that. Don't say thyroid because that's not it :)...I've been on the same thyroid meds for sixth months and my levels were good last time I was at the dr. I'm also on Asmanex and I'm 21. Any suggestions?

You can answer if your kid or someone in your family or a best friend had it done. My daughter needs it for her upper jaw. Please include how much pain was involved and if you had to only eat certain foods etc. Also, how did you keep the thing clean?

I will do what she needs, but I want to make sure she is comfortable. She is almost 7 and needs it done soon.

During the school year I generally get anywhere from 5-8 hours of sleep a night, because of the extracurricular activities and advanced classes I am involved in. I wake up at about 6:20, which is cutting it close enough as it is, having to leave for school at 6:50. However I find that it is not until around noon that I am fully awake and able to participate in conversations and listen the best in class, and by the time I go to sleep I am still wide awake... I have tried drinking coffee in the morning to wake myself up but can't stand the taste or smell. Are there any other ways that I could wake up before leaving the house?

Also, yes I do eat breakfast, usually about 1.5 servings of Bran Flakes.

My cousin came to my house with her daughter, Adrianna, and Adrianna is a perfect, in my point of view. I told her that she's at a perfect weight and that she looks brilliant.

I'm not sure if I said anything wrong. She's 5'2 and109 pounds. Now, her mother has now left complaining that I contradicted her (she believes her daughter is really underweight and is determined to put her on a special gaining-weight diet).

On the way out she insulted me by calling me a maypole! She said that you shouldn't give other people advice when you yourself are struggling through an anorexic phase!!!!

I am 5ft 9 and 123 pounds! I've always regarded myself as perfect! What do you think (including what you think about the daughter)?

It is not a severe as a peanut allergy. But I ate one, I'd have to be rushed o the hospital. Benedryl couldn't help. I can eat avacado, they still make my throat itch, but can eat it with no symptoms. Does anyone know? I tell doctors and they just shrug. It gets annoying when you have to ask, "Is there bananas in this?" Then the questions....

I am also extremely allergic to all shellfish?

Any info would be great...thanks!
