Somedays I get out of bed and my back hurts from a bulging disc, but the part that bothers me is other days my back feels fine. Seems like I can go 3-4 days with no pain and then about 3 days with horrible pain. I do nothing that I know of to bring this pain on. It really confuses me. I feel as though its my fault but I do nothing to deserve it.

The muscles around the nerves might not be inflamed on certain days so the nerves are not getting pinched. If you exert yourself to include being surprised and a quick movement, that can trigger your back muscles to spasm.

Check this site out.

Also called: Bulging disk, Compressed disk, Herniated intervertebral disk, Herniated nucleus pulposus, Prolapsed disk, Ruptured disk, Slipped disk.

A herniated disk is a disk that slips out of place or ruptures. If it presses on a nerve, it can cause back pain or sciatica.

You said you have a Bulged disk.... assuming that you have already seen a doctor. X-Rays will not confirm a Bulged disk. Only an MRI/CatScan can do that.

If you haven't seen a doctor, go have a checkup and make sure. They will give you alternative methods on trying to relieve the pain prior to trying steroid injections or surgery.

If you have a bulging disk It can be pressing on nerves one day and not on another. try not to get frustrated. living with pain is never easy and can make you feel like you want to scream in frustration. Just realize there is a problem in your back and some days are going to be better than others.
