Certain blood vessels in the brain constrict when a migraine starts, this is what causes the visual disturbance a lot of people get. How bad the disturbance is depends on which blood vessels constrict and how much. As the blood vessels open again, the visual disturbance goes away and the headache starts as blood rushes back in.

Actually the mechanism of migraines is currently theoretical. There are strong indications as to the pathophysiology though none are proven.
Blurred vision can be part of a visual aura, and could be due to a circulatory change. Anyone can come here and give you their opinions, but I have recently been to a week long seminar on migraine management and I can not give you an exact answer on a computer.
Also some migraine varients cause blurred vision which is not part of the aura which has been proposed by the previous contributors.
You need to have this worked up however, as some of the migraine varients which have visual blurring or loss have a contraindication for the usual migraine treatment.
Get evaluated by a specialist.

I can only assume that the baby inside you is trying to control your body and using some sort of hallucinogenic telepathic electrical brainwave disruption module to cause this extremely rare condition which only happens very very rarely solely to pregnant women. You must consult the most expensive psychic in the whole of worldshire and ask them for a very specific ritual called a smursmorshion. The migraines, or as I like to call them -Uncontrollable sight losing mega headaches- should stop and you can resume having unprotected engagements with whomever you wish. Good luck baby vessel, the psychic awaits (because obviously she knows your coming, and when she says hello 'insert your RL name here', don't be like, "Oh mah gerd haw did yoo knew?" because it's obvious, she is a psychic and knows a lot of generic stuff that is pretty simple but people still think she is talking to the dead and stuff).

You may be experiencing a migraine with an aura. It can cause blurriness and seeing flashes of light etc. It's common.
"Visual aura is the most common of the neurological events. There is a disturbance of vision consisting usually of unformed flashes of white and/or black or rarely of multicolored lights (photopsia) or formations of dazzling zigzag lines (scintillating scotoma; often arranged like the battlements of a castle, hence the alternative terms "fortification spectra" or "teichopsia"). Some patients complain of blurred or shimmering or cloudy vision, as though they were looking through thick or smoked glass, or, in some cases, tunnel vision and hemianopsia. "
