I have been diagnosed with essential tremor. I have noticed that it follows a pattern 3 weeks of varying degrees of hand tremor followed by week of normal. I seems to be associated with my menstrual cycle and is much worse in the week prior, during and following. Somewhere in the middle I will be 'normal' ie no tremor no matter what the situation for 3 days to a week. I asked the neurologist about this and he said I was just being stupid. Obviously the answer was he doesnt know. I would like to know does anyone else get this, or does anyone know the mechanism involved (or are willing to speculate). Look forward to hearing anyones ideas on the matter.

Cheers Callie

My ex ended things 1 mth ago having been together 8 mths on the basis that "her feelings had changed". She has a history of depression & also suffers from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/SAD.

In the mth prior to the split I notice her being very down. This had happened on 2 previous occasions. The 1st time, I asked if she was ok & she said she was unsure about us & then told me to ignore what she said as she had been "a bit down & it makes her irrational"

The 2nd time I notice her being very insular & I asked if she was ok. She again said she was unsure about us. We both got upset & she said she hated it when she was horrible to me and wanted to give me a chance to get out as she felt she "held me back". I told her I had never thought that.

I pressed her & she admitted she was depressed & went to her dr who gave her prozac & referred her for counselling. 1 wk later she said us was the cause & she wasn't depressed & didn't need counselling.

Is this depression??

my friends daughter who is 14 over-dosed on medication used to treat bi-polar disorder(the girl's cousin gave it to her! knowing that she shouldnt). I don't know exactly which med it was. I am also not sure if the over-dose was intentional..however, it came out that she was kind of doing it as a cry for help because my friend(her mom) doesnt spend enough time with her. She is now in the ICU. This is really sad because this is my friend's youngest daughter..
How often do people usually survive this type of over-dose? Can't doctors usually get the chemicals of the med out of your system? If so..why would she need to be in the ICU? I'm scared for her. :(

Hello.

August 06 I joined a gym because I wanted to lose some weight, I am 21 I weighed about 76kg 177 cm tall and wasnt really happy with my appearence.

Since then I havent really known what I was doing however now weigh between 60~65 but havent acheived the muscle build I was after. I lost weight but should of been turning the fat into muscle

I now want to gain a bit of weight and build muscle, I have started getting personal training and also trying to increase what I eat a day so im taking in more protein but due to busy work schedule this isnt very easy

Im now thinking about taking protein powder as well to assist in acheiving the results I want but not sure wether this is a good idea or not.

Can someone please give me some thoughts is taking protein powder ok and if so what type is the best to take ?

Thanks

Stress at work often affects my stomach, an uncomfortable feeling, sometimes nausea, sometimes mild stabbing pains. Is there something I can take to alleviate the symptoms? (The Doc would only send me to gastro-endoscopy again - been there 4 times already - and provide aluminium hydroxide which doesn't help much)

She told me not to feel guilty, what does that mean?
She seemed like she was very calm about this, and she only found out 3 weeks ago.
I'm still in the denial/shock stage, and she is a very important and dear friend. She helped me and listened and suggested and took me to classes on elder care prior to my mother's passing. I don't know what I will do without this special friend in my life. It seems like she is saying her good-byes, and not expecting the chemo to work. she doesn't believe in chemo, but is doing one more round for her family. she herself, has only known for 3-4 weeks.
She says it happens, and doesn't expect the medical treatments to work, as it's now spread into her hip, rapidly.

My nephew (8 YEARS) has Red bumps below his waist and one on his nose. He's in the hospital right now, he's been there for a couple of hours. They haven't taken blood out yet, so I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of this, or what could it be? He has pain in his legs and it hurts him to walk, the odd thing is that he only has the pain below his waist and all the bumps (except for the one on the nose) are on his legs. Could this be an allergy? Or Chicken Pox? I've never heard of Chicken Pox only in one part of the body, or pain on the legs.

P.S. I know the doctor will find out what it really is, but if anyone has ever heard of symptoms like these, I would appreciate it much if you could tell me what it could be. That way I won't be so worried, and I can calm my sister down.

9 days ago I was hit with a nasty case of the flu. It came on very very quickly, with chills, fever, extreme tiredness, and pain. About 8 hours after it began I was at the docs. Given Tamiflu, cough med, for the cough she said would follow, and meds for nausea. By Tues I'm feeling much better. Then on Fri it hits me again. Chills, temp of 102,body aches and I haven't been able to get out of bed for more than a few minutes up until now. What is going on? Did I get the flu again? Is there anything else I can do, this being in bed thing is getting old.

When i use my laptop in the morning, especially after just waking up i get a headache. Is it because i use it too early, as when i don't use it in the morning, just in the afternoon or evening i don't usually get a headache? Just wondering why and if anyone else experiences the same? For example this morning i was probably on/off the laptop for 2 hours. Thanks.
