Health - 12 December 2006

My father had a triple bypass last Friday and today the doctor said his ex-ray showed that the top of one of his lungs had fell. Does anyone know how this is cured and how long it takes to heal. We will speak more with the doctor tomorrow, just want a little bit of information tonight.

My husband just started working nights and I get nervous at times, I have insomnia anyhow and did have a stalker that died in a car wreck leaving my home, after not getting in. I also was sitting in my living room and a man kept whispering a dirty saying I thought it was my husband at the time playing a joke and I went to the bedroom and he was asleep, I thought he was outside the window. These two episodes has made me feel unsafe all my adult life. Do others do this or do you just jump in the bath and go to bed without a thought? My home is in a historical area of nice homes and some bad home, we are restoring ours, so I don't think its my area of town.

I had an accident at work and I still feel pain in my lower back and I cant sleep. do you know how long it takes to feel better. Its been more than 4 weeks and I still feel pain.

I diet and so I take Centrum as a supplement. I guess the vitamin I am thinking of the most is C because I get my daily value in the Centrum and I also eat ALOT of fruit, orange juice, and fruit snacks which all contain alot of vitamin C. Is this bad for me or will my body just get rid of the excess? Are there any other things I should be looking out for when taking a multivitamin?

I've been looking to reduce simple sugars from my diet. In an effort to do this, I've been using splenda, nutrisweet, tried diet drinks with aspartame as well as tried some natural sweeter that is something like 100 times sweeter then sugar.

In all cases, these substitutes have caused me headaches and I'm also concerned about not using non natural substances.

Is there anyone that's been in the same boat and found something that really works well for them?

I started my period on November 25th. Other than about 2 days it stopped, it's been going ever since. It's strange, it stops while resting and sleeping but once I get up and go to work, about an hour after being on my feet, I get a sudden gush and it goes for a while and then slows down.
I have never had any type of problem like that. I have always been heavy but never an extended period of time. I'm getting abdominal and lower back pain, I feel like an old lady. (but I'm only 30)
Birth control to regulate is not an option, I'm allergic. No I am not pregnant, my bf is a virgin.
Anyone had this happen to them? How long can it possibly last?????

I just tried this machine, it detects your body fat percentage. It says I have 4.4% body fat. I wonder is it ok? I am 5'10, 125 lbs, I don't look so sickly thin... Any opinion? I am attending gym three times per week, and try my best to eat mostly protein food.

I had crab curry for lunch and dinner, it was slightly oily. I had to get up at 1.30 a.m. and sit in the toilet. Does this usually happen to people after they remove the gall bladder. Or is it that I have started eating food with spice and oil ( little bit of both) very soon. One more thing, when can I resume my exercise that is 4 km of walking.

I had it done a while ago -- it worked - pretty much right away -- but it only helped for a few months then everything came back -- I have heard of NET therapy -- does anyone know what that is? I have also heard people have taught EMDR to themselves - where can I get info on that?

I got this scar almost a year ago when i went through a tattoo removal surgery that cut it out. Now I am left with a deep vertical scar about 2 1/2 - 3 inches long and about 1/2 inch wide. I know I cannot get rid of it entirely, but if there is a way to lighten it at least 50% I would like to know how to do it. Thanks.

My roommate and her boyfriend went to a Christmas party Sunday night and they served barbeque pork. She thought it tasted funny, but she thought it was just her, so she gave hers to her b.f. He ate hers plus a great deal more. Within about two hours, he was very sick. It got to the point where he almost went to the hospital. It went on well into Monday. She started getting sick Tuesday afternoon. They've had no fever nor any other flu like symptoms. Is it possible the pork they ate would affect him so quickly and her so long after? He consumed a great deal more than she did and she doesn't think she's contagious. We're just wondering if it's possible.

I'm currently seeing a doctor but I would like any input or advice you have. The doctor told me I have acid reflux disease (gerd) ... but my symptoms are that I have all kinds of saliva production and I can't always swallow it because I feel like I swallow too much air and then I feel pressure in my throat. I have difficulty swallowing because my throat feels very tight or narrow. If I eat anything crispy like a tortilla chip or some bacon my throat hurts for hours until days.

i used to be a self harmer... but i havent for 4 months... which is good for me. i threw out my blades so i wouldnt be tempted anymore. i have counselling and am on antidpressants, but i recently went out to find more blades. and for some reason i cant seem to get rid of them again. i feel stupid. i dont know why i feel like this again.

I have just been prescribed Cymbalta for my migraines/depression/anxiety. I was taking Prozac before this which is available in generic form.Is Cymbalta available in generic form? I am not getting it filled just yet because I have 2 weeks worth of samples.
