If a plastic surgeon is doing the surgery, I would first suggest you ask him/her; don't know what to tell you concerning the supplements. You can use Mederma, which you can buy over the counter at walmart, walgreens, etc. Also, any cream that contains 4% hydroquonine will lighten scars, but it will take time; I think you can only get that percentage amount from a dermatologist, but I'm not sure.

I have a scar on both sides of my ankle too from surgery. I broke my ankle in Feb this year and they had to put two plates and nine screws to repair it. Well the scar has faded alot. I used aloe vera. Sometimes i used cocoa butter. But what helped me the most is this soap called Pears transparent soap. Good luck!

I have a scar on my jaw from an accident and I was told to use Vitamin E oil on the scar to help it from being really noticeable. The scar can still be seen, but it does not stand out as it once did.

Mederma is good and also Neosporin also makes a cream to deminish scars. If you go to the beauty shop supply you can purchase the skin bleaching cream. I had 172 incisions on my leg, and it really, really helped.

Try an aromatherapist. My mum is one and she has mixtures of oils for almost everything.
