My parents just recently checked me into out-patient rehab for Drugs & Alcohol, and I have no idea what to do with my time anymore...with drugs and everything, it all just blurred together, and time stood still, but in reality it'd be hours...

Once again, i'd like to clarify that I havn't gone to far yet, some of you seem to think that i'm middle-aged or something and i'm already a burnout...I'm only 16, and still in High School.

Most of reality does bite, but there are a few parts of it that make the rest of it worth staying sober for.
I just read your additional details.....Give it time and try it. It takes time for you to appreciate reality. Once you detox and your mind clears you see things differently. Ask anyone whos been a user and then cleaned up their life (someone whos been sober for years)

Well, that is, in my opinion, a "fake" existence.
Reality can be harsh, but that makes achievements all the more meaningful. We aren't beings that live to have our nerves stimulated- well, not really. I mean, there are so many aspects to a human being, both internal and external. There is so much today that makes the external appearance of a person seem trivial, since money sometimes negates a lack in that area, but it really is important.

yeah life is hard, and its just so easy to depend on drugs or alcohol etc to make the pain, loneliness, thoughts, issues and problems go away 'temporarily' but its not a fix its just fooling yourself and hurting other people. its gona suck in the beginning but reality is what you need to live in...it may not be what you want it to be but you try to make it better....prove yourself, try to make the best of everyday, find a reason to wake up in the morning and give the day a shot. you only get to live once, enough of wasting that only precious life you have, enough of unknowingly hurting and fooling yourself, enough of running from life and reality, enough of trying and hopelessly depending on taking the so called easy way out which isn't even permanent, enough of hurting the people who care about you or could and would like to care about you only if you were sober....a lot of times people who depend on drugs and alcohol don't realize how much they hurt the people who care about them and how frusterating and painful it is for them to see this person whom they want to shower with love and show that person there is a reason, which is love, and people-them that you need to live for and be sober for....cauz when ur on s*** ur not urself....thats when loved ones really miss you and it hurts so bad. plz give life and reality a chance, give the people around you a chance, don't throw ur life away, don't surrender to these fake fixes that take you away from ur own self. give it a chance, be strong take the challenge, be sober and face and live reality. you'll realize you made the right decision even if its years later. don't go back to identifying and limiting life to a blur! its so not fair--to you yourself, to reality and to others around you.
I wish you all the luck and strength.
theres a lot of people waiting to be proud of you and love you.... its ur call!!

Yes reality bites for sure. And it seems that so many people out there cope with it so much better than I do. How do they do it? Day in, day out. I wish I could figure it out.

life in general is a pain, its about playing your cards right and being the best person you can possibly be as you live your life here because you only have one life to live - doing good with it is alot better than screwing it up.
