Ouch! I know what you mean. I burned my whole arm with boiling water before. I ran cold water over it, and kept an ice pack on it for probably close to 12 hours (very short breaks once n a while). In hindsight, I probably should have gone to the doctor. Take some Tylenol. If there's a blister and it pops, or if the skin is open at all, put some triple antibiotic ointment with pain reliever on it after it stops burning and wrap it with gauze. You wouldn't believe how much the pain reliever in the ointment makes! If it's a really bad burn, see the doctor.

Keep the finger in the ice water

Take some paracetamol (acetaminophen)

If the pain is ongoing as you describe you should probably have it seen by a doctor

You could try wrapping it up in Glad Wrap (or some other type of cling film wrap)

Take some Aleve or another anti-inflammatory--it's more effective than acetaminophen.

Use a non-adhesive dressing to cover the wound.

A benzocaine spray like Dermoplast should help with the pain.

Take it out of the water long enough to rub Aloe on it. Works great on burns!

Put an ice pack on it. If you have to, tape the ice pack to your finger. Just keep the ice on it until it stops hurting.

since you already put it in cold water,...now keep it there.
it will take 30 to 40 minutes when you will have relief.
but you can have a blister now.
