I know there are people out there who protest (sometimes very violently) about animal testing, even in cases of when the testing is to further our knowledge and treatment of Cancer, HIV/AIDS etc. What would these people do if they or their young child became ill with a life threatening disease whose cure/treatment had been tested on animals? Would they refuse help and martyr themselves or accept and be a hypocrite? Any real life experience/knowledge of this would be interesting to hear.

I am getting married in a year and I NEED to lose this weight... my weight currently between 180 and 190 pounds (81kg-86kg)...depending on the week I am having. I want to look and feel good in my wedding dress... oh and I am 5'1"... I gained all this over the last four years while in school... on campus living and eating out has significantly contributed to this coz before I started college I weighed 123lb (56kg).

Any advice on what foods I should and shouldnt eat? I plan to get on the bike for about an hour a day... and stay away from fench fries...

Every time in the past i have started running, I ache for three days (at least) and always end up giving up. Do you know the best way I could approach getting back into it - things like - length of first runs, warming up/down, distance to leave between first/second/third run..basically anything of use to a soon to be reformed lazy git.

I recently seen a story on television's "Good Morning America" about people donating their kidney's to others in need. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there are any complications to the donators after losing one of their organs. I just cannot seem to understand how someone is able to have an organ removed and continue to live. Why would something be there if it was not meant to be used by your own body?

My siblings and I believe she's had some mini-strokes lately, and besides being forgetful, we're concerned that she's no longer safe to drive. She refuses to go to see a specialist (neurologist recommended by her family doctor) because she doesn't think there is anything wrong with her. My Dad is in a nursing home with dementia and his disease began very much like these symptoms in my mom. Help! She can get very nasty and belligerent with her daughters and has a mean streak a mile long.

I noticed while I was in the shower this morning that I tasted blood in my mouth. When I spit there was a little bit of blood. I coughed a little and green mucus came up but there was not blood in it. I usually have a little drainage in the morning. I spit a little more when brusing my teeth and there was a little blood, but the mucus coming up does not have blood in it should I be concerned. I could not find anything in my mouth that could be bleeding.

Where does the "All or Nothing" mentality come from? All Liberals are this, all Conservatives are that, I've never understood it. Let's take the issue of abortion: Pro-Choice means that whether or not the person in question agrees with the idea of abortion, and personally, I'm not too keen on it, they recognize the descision is not theirs to make. The name "Pro-Abortion" is moreso AoN; the message conveyed is either you're on the side that rejects abortion or the side that wants all women to have abortions. Same with Gun Control. Personally, I side with the right on this, due to the fact that anything can be used to kill someone, even one's bare hands. Making handguns illegal isn't going to do anything except a possible decrease in homicide concerning firearms alone, assuming that the offenders in question abide by the gun laws: the thing that makes a criminal a criminal is that they do not obey the laws, therefore would not abide by a gun law. Comments?

my wife had an operation on 25 December 2006, the baby was terminated because of dificulties know by the Docter. She managed to go for her periods (menstrual cycle) for the fisrt 3 or 4 months. Now since then, she has not gone for menstruation for the past 4 months. what could be the problem. please assist, I love her and I am now woried.

My bottom eyelashes sort of curve inwards (due to the bottom eyelid) and they are rubbing against my cornea. I dt feel anything, but i think they are scraping some cells away. What should i do??

i've tried eyelash curler (upside down), pulling my lashes down using my fingers after a bath, snipping those lashes rubbing against my eyes. but it doesnt work!! What should i do??
