Where does the "All or Nothing" mentality come from? All Liberals are this, all Conservatives are that, I've never understood it. Let's take the issue of abortion: Pro-Choice means that whether or not the person in question agrees with the idea of abortion, and personally, I'm not too keen on it, they recognize the descision is not theirs to make. The name "Pro-Abortion" is moreso AoN; the message conveyed is either you're on the side that rejects abortion or the side that wants all women to have abortions. Same with Gun Control. Personally, I side with the right on this, due to the fact that anything can be used to kill someone, even one's bare hands. Making handguns illegal isn't going to do anything except a possible decrease in homicide concerning firearms alone, assuming that the offenders in question abide by the gun laws: the thing that makes a criminal a criminal is that they do not obey the laws, therefore would not abide by a gun law. Comments?

Hi..I think all or nothing means your in or your not..no matter the house.
As for Pro-choice..it doesn't mean for all the women..it just gives them the option. This could be decided upon a number of things...one being pregnant after a rape..a drunken one night stand..a nasty stepdad..you pick the scenario...they have the choice.
As for the gun issue..if everyone is allowed to have one(legally)less the felons stricter by law thus harder to get..crime may actually go down when assuming the one you may rob could easily defend theirself..or the house you may break into may be packed to the gil.Of course offenders would not abide ,but if the citizens were equally equiped, that little thing called hesitation may result in a bigger thing called thought. It may just result in a big shoot out but if it does..I hope I don't just have a table to hide behind..and if I ever get raped..I hope I can choose whether or not to carry the rapist's child.

personally I think they are wrong, I do think you see blanket anti liberal remarks, not anti Conservative remarks, you might here people like myself say far right because us liberals or at least part liberals think there are 2 sides to every story, hence the term liberal minded, OK, lets look at the facts. Abortion, if you are over 14 years of age unless your not very educated, you can do 5 minutes of research and find out that it was a Republican who wrote the opinion for Roe VS Wade on the Supreme Court, it was also a republican who was the Chief Justice at the time for the Supreme Court, It was also Mrs Bush who said on national TV (The Today show) that she didn't think Roe VS Wade should be over turned, There are allot of unintelligent people who believe anything they hear, the Roe VS Wade was about whether the Government had the right to step in to control what a woman can do with her body, that's it!, Now lets look at gun control , the biggest gun control law in recent history, guess what , THE BRADY BILL, HELLO, HELLO, lights are on but nobody is home, it was the Conservatives who wrote that bill after the shooting of Reagan and Brady, HELLO !!!!! You know the point I am trying to make, is MOST things, there is allot of gray area, its not as black and white as people are so misinformed and taught to spread things that just plain are not true. But I do think they have extremist in both parties, normally the far left will balance out the far right, but I really do think there is out right more falsehoods claimed by people who say they are conservative\, I also think you have moderate conservatives who are well balanced people who want what’s best for the Country, there just not running the country

I wonder whether certain interest groups are being orchestrated by officialdom. Smoking, for example, is something which could have been gradually phased out as damaging to the human body had certain interest groups not had a great deal to gain by continuing to promote it, while at the same time the state found it an exceedingly valuable source of revenue and government statisticians came up with figures showing that if people continued to smoke they were likely to die younger, not collect their pensions and not be a burden on the system generally. I can see that abortion could be supported with similar economies in view and wonder whether it is. I am firmly anti-abortion and know that many people of that persuasion are moved by the need to protect the unborn against threats posed by those whom they are powerless to resist. It seems ludicrous that while teams of medics struggle to protect a premature baby who is holding onto life by a slender thread, they would cheerfully have brought about the death of that same baby in the womb months earlier. I do not feel at liberty to comment on handguns, as I have always lived in societies where they were prohibited, but I know that in such societies there are always alternatives available to those determined enough to threaten the lives of others in the form of sawn off shotguns. Prohibition often breeds ingenuity and resourcefulness on the part of criminals.

At present people are suffering unduly from the prohibition on carrying liquids on board planes. The immediate reaction to the discovery of a plot was an all-out ban on things which the vast majority of human beings could never have conceived of using for nefarious purposes, while meanwhile, had they wanted access to liquids for their evil plots, there was a plentiful supply of saliva in their mouths, surely? But an all-out ban it had to be and it has still not been relaxed more than a tiny bit. We do seem to live in an all or nothing society.

I'm not sure if your question is about choice, abortion or guns. What I am getting is this, you are for the right to own a gun. OK, I agree with you. It's your right. I am against owning a gun for myself, it can only lead to me shooting someone. However I do not try to put my choice on other people. People against abortion do try to put their choice onto all others. No choice allowed. How about we keep religion and morals out of politics and keep them in the churches where those subjects belong.

i agree 110% with you-criminals will find ways to commit crimes no matter what the circumstance of law is.instead of passing new laws concerning gun violence,we should be strictly enforcing the existing laws.plea bargains, etc. make a mockery of the judicial system.i'd rather be judged by twelve than carried by six.
