I apologize for any unwarranted attacks on other users. Many V&V users have reached the end of their fuses as many questions may be viewed as deliberately offensive as they have been asked many times by trolls that just want to see negative reactions. I may have explanations for some of the unpleasant responses.

I am vegetarian and a lot of people ask me how I survive without eating meat. First of all, I am vegetarian by choice. For me, I have access to a lot of good vegetarian food. My mother is vegetarian and she cooks very well. Her food is very good and she makes all kinds, indian, italian, chinese, mediterannian. I love all vegetables and tofu is my favorite! I also eat a wide variety of exotic fruit, such as pomegranate.

However my friend hates all of that. She doesn't like tofu or pomegranate. All because she tried them before in a way that is disgusting. A tofu shake, sounds gross. Pomegranate juice, I've never tried it but I love the fruit. She probably wont try these ever again because of bad experiences with it.

That is what I blame. People are so turned off by vegetarian food because they try it once and it wasn't a good source to try it from if you understand what I mean.

Please comment on what the other reasons are.

Due to certain health reasons, I have to eliminate wheat and meat from my diet. I also have to eliminate junk food and soft drinks.

So my question is--what can I eat that'll fill me up? I'm gonna miss not being able to eat stake or pizza or....*sigh* so what can I eat? I need a list. I'm completely new to this so any and all advice would be very helpful. Usually I eat things like spaghetti or hamburgers...what do I eat now? How do I keep myself from starving???

chestnut mushrooms and red onions, roasted off in best olive oil, whole garlic cloves and a branch of fresh rosemary..what shall I do now, whizz them up into a soup, and serve with my homemade vegetarian cheese and onion granary bread,

OR

shall I make a lasagne with them, bathe them in a rich, roasted cherry tomato sauce, creamy bechemel and topped with bubbling golden vegetarian cheddar? I'd serve it with a nice green salad and garlic bread

If you are a vegetarian or vegan for ethical reasons, is it ethical to sell 3000 bales of hay to those who feed it to cattle so they can kill them later for their meat?

Is it ethical to gain huge profit$ at the expense of an animal's life when you can raise some other crop that will NOT support the killing of animals?

When the person was asked to disprove what everybody read about selling 3000 bales of hay to animal killers, he REFUSED to post the links to the RESOLVED question. Instead he "copied" what he said, but we couldn't read it for ourselves via the link to the RESOLVED question.

Why would an innocent person try to hide something that would prove him innocent? Why would someone who is so judgmental of others do things to promote the killing of animals?

How do vegans and vegetarians that are true to their ethical convictions respond to a moral fraud?

I have 6 friends that are vegan or vegetarians but are not big fans of PETA. They get turned off by their outlandish protests, public spectacles, history of animal euthanasia, expensive galas, donated money that goes into criminals like rodney coronado, freezers that keep animals that are killed, or animals that are killed and thrown to dumpsters, celebrity endorsements payments, expensive galas and that much of the money is not spent helping animals but rather on expensive costumes, and that PETA wants domesticated animals to dissapear. Is there a level of hypocrisy with PETA that turns people off?

I am a partial vegetarian. I only eat seafood, no red meat or poultry. I do eat dairy products as well. After watching a show dealing with b12 deficiencies, I think I may have that problem. Before going to the doctor which I cannot afford I would like to try to supplement my diet with b12 to see if that helps. I do not want to overdose on b12 so how should I do this? Should I do vitamin pills or adition to my diet?

"As a Brit, I can tell you the Vegetarian Society --- venerable in it's time --- is now a bunch of old tossers counting the wrinkles on each others willies. They simply have failed to have an original thought since 1847 when it emerged from Christian fundamentalism."

Are the our answer to PETA???

I want something like the look and comfort of uggs, bearpaws, etc. but I really want something that is either vegan (no animal parts) or something where the animal is not killed to retreive the material (would you call that a vegetarian boot?) The first person to give me the name of a good site or store gets a quick 10 points, so please post!
*I know this isn't a food topic, but it is a vegan topic so I thought people here would know.*

For two weeks I didn't eat any meat or dairy products. During this time I was eating alot of green vegetables, peanut butter, beans, and I was taking calcium pills. I found that I had alot more energy and I felt really good. My mom got very angry with me as it started into a third week and made me stop, I am 15 and theres not alot I can do to fight back about the matter. This is the first week I have eaten meat sense and I feel very drained and weak. Is this due to the fact that my body is getting used to the change or is it the meat?
