Plants are non-sensient, so hypothetically this would be impossible. If plants were sensient, of course I wouldn't eat them. But, since I'm a vegetarian and not vegan, I wouldn't have a problem eating something that was derived from them (i.e. the fruit of the plant) without killing them.

if they had a soul, or ever had a mind no. i would not. but if they could scream it wouldn't matter, some houses 'scream' from being old...yet we still live in them
