It seems to me that there are no great health benefits to these sorts of diet.

But don't get me wrong, I totally support these approached to life, but rather as humanitarian reasons. I am totally against eating any animal that has been made to suffer in any way. This leaves very few animals to eat.

But are there any real health benefits to not eating meat?

It's my first time getting sick since I became veggie 6 months ago. I am so used to loading up on chicken soup when I get sick that I'm not quite sure what to do to nurse myself back to health, aside from the requisite vitamin C intake and lots of rest.
Thanks

Self control is what I used up until now, but there has to be something else I can do. Is there something nutritionally I can do?

Meat has been linked to so many diseases. I do not want to go back to being a meat eater.

Why is it okay for black people to refer to themselves by the N-word, but if whites do it, all of a sudden we are labeled racists? Am I the only who thinks this is totally unfair?

I put this question in the vegan section because I am a vegan.

I am a vegetarian and hope to get a job soon but I'm wondering if I work in a resaurant is that being a hypocrite? I am a big supporter of PETA and a hard core vegetarian so this is a big issue for me. Please no negative comments towards vegetarians, thank you.

I've tried to be a vegetarian years back but I found I couldn't because I adore the taste of chicken. However, I've been really thinking of trying again because I SO need a healthier diet. (and a few weeks back I made my first chicken roast and it really disgusted me when I cleaned it out - sorry to offend anyone!)
Are there many others who've loved a certain type of meat before finally giving it up? If so, how did you do it??
Need some help please :-)

Hey, I was just wondering if people could tell me if Nerds (wonka) are vegan. To answer any variables, I am a strict vegan, no gelatin or whey or anything like that. Nothing living (well, excluding plants.). So please help me with this. Thanks.

They often argue that humans don't NEED to eat meat and that there are meat substitutes that are available. They also argue that wild animals (such as the big cats) eat other animals because they have to.

Questions: What would the wild carnivores do if they were given an unending supply of meat substitute such as soy or veggie meats? Do you think they would stop hunting real animals? Would they eat the fake meat?

Whenever I eat meat around vegans or vegetarians, they always give me a bad look as if I'm doing something wrong.
I know they don't believe in eating meat or that crap, but their kind of irritated.
I should look at THEM when they don't eat meat and see themselves turn anorexic.
I'm sorry but theres just no point in being a vegetarian or vegan.
Its not healthy.

Does anyone have a good recipe for gluten-free vegan cakes and/or cookies? I have a relative who's allergic to wheat, dairy, and eggs, so I need a recipe for a vegan dessert that doesn't have flour in it because I would like to make her a good dessert that she can eat.

What if you totally were into this one guy/girl, And (s)he liked you and what not... Would you date/kiss him/her?

Wouldn't it feel awkward/"immoral" to your beliefs, or "Dirty"?
Eh.. The whole Dilemma seems a bit stressful for me. :\

I seriously do not understand this. I can understand everything about not torturing or starving animals or killing them ONLY for their fur or leather but why the killing of animals for meat. I have hear a great deal of bs concerning this topic like how our systems are designed for fruit and vegetables and we only eat meat because of either the taste or brainwashing (this claim is usually givin authority with claims that it was said by health profesionals which I doubt because anyone with a basic understanding of biology would look at our teeth and realize it isn't true) or that not eating meat is healthier but that still doesn't explain the claims of inhumanity.

I seriously wish to understand your viewpoint and am not trying to open you up for flames insults or any other form of harassment.
