I am a vegan, and I married a meat eater. However, he mostly has a vegan diet, because that's what I cook for him. He doesn't care what it is, as long as it tastes good, haha.
My husband doesn't hunt or fish (at least he hasn't recently). This might sound weird coming from a vegan, but I don't have that much of a problem with hunting and fishing, as long as it's not done for sport. I have a lot more respect for someone who hunts or fishes for his own food than for someone who goes to the grocery store and buys a package of chicken breasts, not caring where it came from or what suffering was caused. The truth is, hunters are very important to the conservation of wildlife populations and habitats.

Um, ya. Every guy I've dated eats meat. I don't expect everyone to eat or think the same as me. Besides, it's hard to find a vegetarian or vegan boyfriend in the middle of high school.
I've dated a guy who hunts but it really bothered me when he talked about it. I never said anything about it, but no, I wouldn't want to marry someone who hunted or fished, because he'd be bringing it home and I'd probably start crying or something.

My father is a vegetarian and my mom is not. They do just fine. I would like to hunt, I think it's better than eating factory farmed meat.
You can't claim animal cruelty if you cut out the factory farming. A bullet is pretty humane compared to the video on meat.org, although meat.org lies, antibiotics are prohibited for use in chicken, says so right on the package.
Also there is range fed meat, bison, beef, and pork even. And there are small farms that don't participate in animal cruelty.
To offer the flip side of the coin, I (an omnivore) would date a vegetarian girl as long as she didn't nag me about hunting.

I have no probably with dating someone who eats meat, other than a few kinds that universally cruel, such as veal et al.
Hunting and fishing is a little iffier, but if they did it for food, not just for sport, I guess I'd be okay with it. I know the deer in my area need to be thinned out every few years. They have no natural predators (besides humans), so they run the risk of overpopulation induced starvation.

date, yes.. I currently do.. I'd prefer he not but he is allergic to milk and already has problems eating foods. But I do want to cook dinners for my family when I am married so yes I will have to convert him by the time marriage comes around.
Hunting.... or fishing... no way jose. I want to PET the cute deer not shoot them... and especially not mount them on my walls and stuff like ... *shudders*.. ahh.
Ideally I will have to find a man who does not eat meat or at least is willing to stop. I make some bomb-*** vegetarian and vegan meals =}!

I married a meat eater he now is vegetarian which I like better, but I love him for him not what he eats.
Now hunting is a different story I could never be with anyone that can look into an animals eyes and then shoot it. I would not want to be with anyone that sees nothing wrong with killing.

Depends how often and wether they go on about it or not :/ if they respect my decision i would respect thiers.
Also, Id rather someone who caught and killed their own meat than someone who just bought it from the shop.
if i was going to ever eat meat again thats the way i would do it. i think letting someone else do the killing for you is weak and incredibly disrespectful to the animal.
Good Luck : )

I would prefer to find a girlfriend who did not.
For a marriage, it is essential.
It's not that I'm judging them. It's about compatibility. I can't envision a life with a woman where every meal is a potential source of conflict.
It makes it easier to cook a meal for, AND have a meal cooked for you, if both of you eat similar things.

My oldest is vegan and her boyfriend of over a year is an omnivore and he fishes. She sees it as her choice and doesn't impose it on him.

My fiance ate meat when we first went out. Then he decided to change his habits and I liked him more. I knew I wouldn't want to live with someone who ate meat and hunted and fished, I'd feel pretty terrible of a person...plus meaty breath smells funky.
