I mean, from a biological point of view. Is that something that vegans use as an argument against eating these things?

I know eggs don't feel pain, and I doubt that animals like shrimp feel pain.

Vegetarians and vegans, which do you think is more humane? (If you are going to answer both then don't bother answering) hunting, or meat from the stores?

Of course I would want to know if you actually ate it and what was the verdict. Did people say "Wow, that was delicious. Let's have it again next year? or something like that. :-)). Thanks and I have a great recipe for pumpkin soup if anybody wants it.

So for a while now i have been thinking off cutting meat out of my diet. Recently in one of my classes we saw videos of slaughter houses, and that just pushed me to stop eating meat. I haven't eaten meat in a week, which is a short time i know, but i really want to stick to this. i don't think i am going to be a vegeterian, i don't eat eggs, i eat egg whites, i don't eat fish, but i do love shrimp. i still eat milk. i'd like to be a vegeterian someday, i just feel bad because i'm still eat dairy and want to eat shrimp. i do feel better not eating meat, but i don't really know what to eat. i want some tips, or guidance on what to eat. i have craved meat, but then i think of the video, ahh what can i do to eliminate mean from my diet?

I have a cheapie plastic sprouter which the seeds clog, producing poor results. I want to buy a top of the line sprouter, but have no idea which brand is best. If it is electric it has to be 220v, as I live in Germany. Any help from you experts would be appreciated.

They are in his armpits and around his groin area. The circles are growing bigger and they have a ridge around their edge. It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen. It looks like a rash. What is it that he has?

My boyfriend is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat any meat. Today he ate a little piece of fish and I already told him not to do that anymore. However, since he is trying to be vegetarian, that is why I ask this question in this section.

Mostly i get it from family members, but sometimes when i tell people that i am a vegetarian they make fun of me for it, saying things like mmm i love a nice bloody steak or why i do it and criticize me. I mean i NEVER push my beliefs on them so i don't see why they can't do the same. I wouldn't be asking this but i do have to deal with my family every day. Everybody else pretty much i don't have to explain anything to.

Does anyone know of a company that sells a creamy type chocolate bar made with rice, almond, hazelnut or some other type of plant based milk? If so can you provide a link? Also if there are no companies that sell it but you have a recipe that would be helpful.

Living in a small town in Oklahoma, I have only met four other vegetarians in my whole life, and none of them are guys either! They all think that meat eating is associated with manliness. (Which, in my opinion, is at the top on the list of stupidest things in the world, second only to the notion that war is ever a good idea.) Very few people here understand vegetarianism and most think it to be stupid. How do I respond to the frequent question of "What would you want to be a vegetarian for?" without completley offending them but still expressing my strong beliefs and values?

i bought tofu on a whim. i'm a new vegetarain or fairly new if you will and i wanted something that was good for me and tasted good. so i went down the isle and there was so many different kinds and i happened to see the ready to eat tofu and i got it. it's going to expire in a week or so, so i finally got the guts to taste it. and guess what? IT WAS DELICIOUS! so i want to do know what i can do with it? i don't want to eat it plain or as a stand alone, i want to mix it with something so i can have my family try it without knowing what it is. it is smoked ready to eat tofu.

unable to suffer from pain. There bodies react to pain stimuli almost exactly the same as a plant does. To a veger, as food, one is forbidden while the other embraced.

The question therefore being, why? It cannot be for pain and suffering as neither have those conditions. It cannot be for death because both would experience death. Personal preference isn't an answer either. What is the reason for that personal preference. Saying "personal preference" is just saying "I don't know" or "I don't have a reason".

Very similar cases. Why is one forbidden and the other embraced?

I have a friend who used to eat fermented foods before he became very militant about his vegan diet. He claims that their are tiny animals in his pickle jar?

How can I convince him it is okay to eat fermented foods?

I did tell him it is wrong to eat meat though an he knows that and we both agree on that. However, we don't agree on the fermented foods. Please help with some advice because he was judging me for eating pickles and that is not right. Eating pickles is okay.

Plants are living things as well, they have male and female , they breed by the male fertilizing the female, they have a life cycle, they have a kind of rudimentory nervous system, they react to the sun, light , heat and touch( sunflowers and Venus fly traps are examples) The fact that they do not move and don't appear to have the characteristics of animals does not make them impervious to feelings such as pain when they are chopped down. And how do we know they don't feel sorrow when we collect their offspring in the form of fruit, nuts and seeds?
