Cozy Cottage, Maple Grove, Joseph's, Sorbee, Steel's, and Faerie's Finest all make sugar free maple syrup.

Well, there are hidden ingredients in maple syrup. They usually add lard or oil as a defoaming agent, and the cheap stuff, they add some kind of sugar and likely water too to make more profit. Well, just because it costs more doesn't mean a thing, you basically have to go with your gut and try to buy some quality organic maple syrup, and even give the company a call to see what they add to it, if anything. All natural nothing added maple syrup that is thick would be really expensive, so basically not available at most stores -- who wants to buy a $50 bottle of syryp? Usually it's pretty liquidy stuff. If it doesn't cost 50 bucks and it's all thick... stuff is added to it. Why not just thicken it yourself -- heat it up in a pot and add some starch or something...

Maple syrup is a kind of sugar. However, if you're looking for a thick natural syrup, try organic maple syrup. I think you want grade B over grade A maple syrup, as that's thicker and darker.

And the Aunt Jemima and Mrs. Butterworth's are just corn syrup with a bit of maple flavoring--you do NOT want those. go for the real stuff.

That is a contradiction. How can maple syrup be sugar free? That's like "sugar free fruits". Maple syrup is made from the sap of the maple tree, which is naturally high in sucrose.

You can get sugar free maple flavored syrups, which are basically made of water, a sweetener and maple flavor, but that is not maple syrup. I've heard good reviews about Joseph's because they use 'natural maple flavor' but keep in mind it is NOT maple syrup.

Have you tried sugar free honey - I can't remember the name of the company, but its the one that the bottles look like bears. If yours is runny but you like the flavor, just boil it a little bit, like a rolling boil for 1 minute, it'll thicken up nicely and be warm over your pancakes or waffles, all the better anyway.

Alternatively, try liquid White Stevia. You can find it at Hobart's or other health food store, I have even seen it at Giant Eagle.

Don't use maple syrup, a better choice is Agave Nector, you can find it in the health food stores!

Try Aunt Jemima or Mrs. Butterworth, they are both thick. I think they have sugar free syrup, but you might want to go to the store and check.
