i bought tofu on a whim. i'm a new vegetarain or fairly new if you will and i wanted something that was good for me and tasted good. so i went down the isle and there was so many different kinds and i happened to see the ready to eat tofu and i got it. it's going to expire in a week or so, so i finally got the guts to taste it. and guess what? IT WAS DELICIOUS! so i want to do know what i can do with it? i don't want to eat it plain or as a stand alone, i want to mix it with something so i can have my family try it without knowing what it is. it is smoked ready to eat tofu.

The best recipe I have for smoked tofu is actually really simple.

I slice it lengthways quite thinly so it ends up looking like wide strips.

I heat up some olive or sesame oil in a frying pan and heat each side of each slice until it gets crispy.

I then sprinkle sesame seeds and some soya sauce on it and eat!

It is so delicious like that and you can serve it on its own as a starter or with some stir fried veg/rice/noodles or a sweet and sour salad.

I hope you like it!

Take a small bowl, pour japanese shochyu (soya sauce), put a cube of it into the soya sauce, (it should only cover 1/3 the height of the tofu), and serve with spring onions.

It's simple, and light.

stir fry with ginger, peppers, scallions, mushrooms five spice, soya sauce, garlic, chilli and serve with rice.

i like silky tofu steamed for 25 minutes and served with chillis corinader and doused with a mix of soya sauce and oyster sauce again served with rice.

it's asian (der... obviously) and i can recommend cookbooks by ken hom, his recipes are easy and tend to work

tofu is nice, and apparently it stops men getting prostate cancer.

Tastes great by itself, so why not just eat it like that. Like good quality chocolate... throwing it in a cookie would just ruin it.

Mix it with cooked rice or noodles and vegetables.
