i used the fat from some hog jowl i fried last month and kept in a jar in the 'fridge' for just such an occasion. hog jowl. and it was GOOD. have i now become a porcine-vegitarian? im laughing out loud at that one....lol. i DO have a sense of humor, even though vegans suck eggs and worse.

why do folks use it as an opportunity to attack each other? i truly dont understand vegans but i do admire vegetarians for their choices of food items. vegetables are good, and i like them too. but to tell me and other omnivores how i should eat and feel about what i choose to eat is totally wrong. and i will argue and fight you vegans to the last tooth and nail. i dont give a rat's *** about the cow or pig or chicken or fish or lamb or deer or any other meat bearing animal i just ate for supper. its the way of the world. vegans like to split hairs on what it is they eat. and at the same time they want everybody else to agree with them. you go, you vegetarians. do what makes you feel good. vegans can go suck eggs for all i care.

i really get wound up and bent out of shape when i see bad spelling. if some of you folks have trouble with words that have too many letters, use the check spelling thingy that this site provides. it is my pet peeve to see supposedly adult and/or near adult people spell like they are not even in the first grade yet. i understand typos but some of you people need to really brush up on simple language arts, especially spelling. for crying out loud. get real.

i've been a vegan since the beginning of this year, and just yesterday i broke it! i didn't even enjoy what i ate, but today i woke up and ate the same thing! it's so silly, but i want to get back on. i just feel like i've screwed up and i keep telling myself "i'll start tomorrow" when i just did the same thing again.

i really want to stay a vegan, but i seem to have lost sight of why i started in the first place. can you give me a few words of wisdom please so i will snap out of it, and feel free to share any of your experiences too.
thank you

I've wanted to become a vegetarian for a long time and for many reasons, animal cruelty being one of them. But I don't think I'll be able to give up cheese and skim milk. Am I a hypocrit to stop eating meat and eggs because I want to stop animal cruelty, but still drink milk??

Due to severe food allergies (wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, tomato, avacado, peanuts, etc) I have a very limited diet. I do vegan wherever I can, but due to limitations have the littlest bit of fish when I feel the need for protein, mosty twice a year. I consume fresh, raw milk from a pampered cow. I am trying to balance my 12 year olds vegan needs, with my needs for protein from sources other than those typically used by vegans. We are very pro active for animal rights, and consume only products we know are willingly given up by animals, and we thank them for it. Being allergic to most grains, many vegetables, and all wheat items. such as bread, crackers, cookies, cakes, etc., What can you recommend that my daughter and I can enjoy together-cooking three meals a day for her, and three seperate meals for me is tiring, and not cost effective. I have been slammed on here several times for saying I am a veggie, and then saying I eat fish....I need balance and advice

I want to throw a party for St Pats day, but wondering if there are any traditional Irish dishes that can be made vegetarian. I've always done Corned Beef & Cabbage... which obviously won't work now that I'm a veggie... Ideas anyone? I don't care how easy/difficult it is... I love to cook, but it must be something meat-eaters will love too. Thanks for your help!

I know this gets asked a lot, but I am 15 and interested with the vegetarian lifestyle. I have thought about this on and off for the past 3 or 4 years, and have finally started to look into it. I have a lot of unanswered questions though:
1. What can I eat? I know that I cannot eat meat, but in terms of easy acces things like fast food, chips etc.
2. How can I deal with cravings?
3. What steps can I take towards my new lifestyle? (ex.-transition foods)
4. How can I tell my family? We eat meat on a regular basis and it is an important staple in family gatherings.
5. What are good substitutes for meat in terms of health and similarity in taste?
Of course I have many other questions, so anyone open to sharing their stories of how and why they became a vegetarian would be very helpful. I have done some research and decided that, for now at least, I would like to become a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I am doing this for moral reasons.

So I'm tryin to be a vegetarian and my cousin told me she was a vegetarian for eight months and she still craved, loved meat. And her stomach could handle the meat. I eat meat everyday and it's a big part of my life. HELP! And can I have good hints on how to become a vegetarian.

This question is usually asked to me right after I have to explain to someone that I am a vegetarian. I as a vegetarian personally eat the same things as everyone else except meat, poultry, fish, and I only have eggs and milk when it is backed into a pastry or some form of bread product.
