Does anyone know why adding fruit juice and fresh fruit should be avoided when making veggie juice? Adding a small amount of fruit juice like 100% apple juice helps the veggie juice taste sweeter. Anyone have any answers or nutritional background.

Just turned veggie and don't want my health to suffer so any advice would be helpful. Also what cheaper brands of make-up and hair products are animal friendly? If there's anything else you think I should know about please say! Thanks so much

I pretty much gave up eating red meat many years ago, but never knew about the cruel treatment of chickens, turkeys, and fish. I never had any idea that by drinking milk and eating dairy products I am supporting the inhumane treatment of cows as well. A friend told me I can buy free range milk, dairy products and eggs where the animals are not mistreated. Where can I find these items? I will also have a hard time even buying or cooking meat for my husband. How can I convince him to try to go vegetarian as well?

was told in art class yesterday that paint brushes are made from animals tails (mink) and is freaking out. She refused to finish her painting (I support her conviction) I do recall hearing that boars hairs were used in brushes. Does anyone know about this? Veggie bashers will just look stupid by answering

I'd like to know both sides of the story before I commit to something so drastic. I understand a great deal about vegetarianism, but would like to review a fair opposing arguement.

Peanuts are legumes, so I'd say I like them best as peanut sauce on pasta. Mmmmm!!! Fattening and oh so good!!!

I also love lentils the way my mom would make, with water (of course, duh!), tomato paste, garlic, and salt. Mmm, simple and good. Oh, and I love chickpeas as hummus, yum! And of course, the Beaner staple (which we had plenny times in my house), wihch are refried pinto beans. Love 'em with fried taters, and eating it all with a flour tortilla instead of a fork. Mmmm!

Not peanuts, because they are not nuts, they are legumes. Aside from that, what is your favorite nut? Mine are pine nuts, then macadamias, then walnuts, then almonds.

What about you?

I'm going to become a vegetarian and i'm wondering if anyone knows how to gain back the nutrients and protien that you get from meat. I know there are protien pills/ shakes but I heard they make you bulk up. i'm not looking to bulk up, just trying to restore everything that I can obtain from meat. Does anyone know how?

Well, I went to peta.org and found out stuff they never told us about the meat and chicken we eat everyday. I was so grossed out that I am deciding to go vegan for 30 days. I want to see how a life like a vegan is like. I am starting tommorrow, Tuesday, March 13, 2007. But for some reason, I don't know the type of food from my very home can I eat without going shopping. Help please? What are the do's and don't's?
