Because everyone has the right to make their own lifestyle choices.

I am a vegan and I have never tasted meat. I do not in anyway think myself better then my friends who eat steak 3 times a week. I was raised veg and have continued to do so throughout my adult years. It was my choice to continue

Another example is the fact that I am a pacifist but I do not judge those that serve in the military. Killing is something that I personally do not agree with, however I have to recognize that other people do not share my belief and that is perfectly ok.

People have the right to make their own choices, and while we may not agree with them, we do need to respect them. After all, we expect others to respect our decisions to not eat meat...

People have committed injustices against all animal species including man ..we are part of the animal kingdom ... Most people outside of third world countries or those as Indian for religious beliefs are raised to believe eating animals is acceptable and more so necessary ... they wrap it up in nice little packages so people forget that this was once a living breathing creature with feelings and a nervous system that FEELS pain ...If they had to bash in a cows head to eat him ...or break a chicken neck and then dismember the animal to eat it Most would not ...they choose not to know..not to see ...and unfortunately are not made aware of what really goes on ..Why do you think slaughterhouses have one of the biggest turnovers for employment in the country? But have Faith things are changing..I have seen a tremendous change in the last 20 years...and look we are here talking about it ...

because people just don't care about the suffering of animals. they think humans are better than animals, so we have the right to kill them and if they suffer along the way, who cares? some believe that people cannot be healthy unless they eat meat, which is obviously wrong- look at all the vegetarian/vegan people out there! now the fda has approved the eating of cloned meat, so we will be able to create more and more animals to kill. it's very sad, and i am very thankful that i am a vegetarian.

I wish people wouldn't ask questions like this. It doesn't really do anything for the meat-eaters besides annoy them.

Because most people selfishly believe that its perfectly okay to slaughter an animal to satisfy their hunger. Its preposterous that something must bleed and die in order to stuff your face. I get everything I need from a plant based diet.
