Technically, you're killing a cow by eating the steak, but if you don't eat it, a cow would live. So your question doesn't make much sense, but I'd eat the steak. I'm a vegetarian, but that doesn't mean I don't think steak tastes good.

I'd choose to eat the steak because the cow that the steak was produced from was already dead, so at least I'm saving a living cow.

I'd rather not eat the steak, though.

Fortunately, I dont have to conform to your rules. I thought ahead, and I have a lovely hydroponic garden, full of plants and herbs that dont have to bleed or die. I, unlike you, dont have to make a stupid choice. I was prepared for the inevitable, due to your cluelessness, you are not. I will survive knowing nothing had to bleed for me, and YOU will have to face your own karma. I would never have to eat a steak to save a cow..for I have thought ahead, and realized that my own selfish needs and cravings need not cause some other heart beating animal to die, just so I can satisfy my own selfish needs. Steak IS delicous! I love it medium rare..but, I make a concious choice to not have it, and enjoy my gifts from nature instead. After all, I wouldn't want to go snorkling and get eaten by a shark-I am sure he would think I am pretty tasty too! I hope you arent a hiker, or snorkler....what goes around comes around....you havent to date heard of one of those folks attacked by wild animals being a veggie....nor have you heard of an eggplant attacking a human. Common sense prevails here, and you obviously have none

How are you supposed to eat a steak without the cow dying?! I mean, do they do surgery, remove a ribeye or two, then sew it back up?! I'm confused....

Yep--- especially a swordfish steak.
I'd figure the animal that the steak came from was already dead and I couldn't help save its life.
Actually, I'd probably eat YOU to save a cow--- they are such innocent creatures, and I'm sure you are not.

a cow dies
If I ate it then it would die AND be in my stomach
Unless the random dying cow was going to die in a worse way

(b)

I've never eaten steak, and cows die all the time. I lose sleep over neither.

your question and the conditions you place on answering it makes me think that you are just against vegitarians and anyone who practices it. its clear to me that you have already have a fixed opinion about the subject. it anyone bothers to answer your question they will just play into your hands. the best thing for a vegetarian to do is to ignore you and hope that someday you will be able to examine your beliefs.
